The 2wd burb thread. Fixed!!!!

2wd big block burb tow rig
My only suggestion at this point is to use remflex header gaskets. The OEM style gasket on my 22R, leaked the day I installed it. I swapped it for a remflex based on what other yota guys suggested and I'm super impressed with them. They're twice as thick, you torque it down to their specs, not the OEM spec and it crushes about half way. I'll buy a set for Daisy one of these days, one of hers leaks slightly when the engine is cold.
I'll second (or third or whatever the count is) Remflex gaskets. I have some on my Yukon and they don't leak at all, the stamped steel ones the headers came with leaked about 5 minutes after I installed them. The Remflex ones have been in there for three years no issues.

The 454 was the determining factor. 1981 and newer C/K/R/V 20/2500 got the 9.5" semi float UNLESS it had the 454 which was limited to 2wds. 20 series crews are the exception as all crews got the FF.
I'm gonna throw a monkey wrench in that statement. My parents 85 3/4 ton C20 Suburban with the 350 had the 10.5 FF axle. I remember because I helped him do the brakes once, that was a sucky job.

It's pretty clearly stated in GM brochures. I see lots of 80s K20s with the FF as well, but lots can change in 30 years.

This was a fully stock truck as far as I know, but I had just arrived on this planet when grandpa ordered it so it could very well be a one-of-a-kind thing. And it had the 40 gallon tank as well.

Doing some cleanup. It was pretty clean when i got it but the interior is so nice i wanna make sure I get it very clean.

Hopefully soon ill pull the seats and really give the carpet a scrubbing. Its in great shape but as with anything this old it has its share of stains.

Messing around with the factory floor mats too. They have a couple issues but not a big deal.

Biggest thing now is the third row. One front mount is torn off the seat. So i need to pull back the upholstery to weld it. Trying to do that this weekend

You ever get the driver window sorted Eric? Otherwise, still running ok?

I literally jiggled the wires lol. Took it all apart and got fustrated, cause i cant get my hands into anything having to do with the door. Pulled on the wires it started working and been working ever since.

Starts everytime. I need to download winaldl and do some data logging. Its got a slight stumble when cold but not all the time. But overall, this thing is a gem

It's really refreshing to see you so driven to work on this truck. I long for a square body that I get to do that deep of a cleaning on.
