The 6,000 gal BLACK GOLD build

Little steps getting closer to the finish line . Old tank had some dents we didnt notice until on nice frame . So we used some 1/4" strips to full the gaps .

Got the rest of the 3" plumbing fittings ordered and hydraulic pump ( bigger gpm ) and 2 new big drive motors along with a control valve .

I was going to say, I’ve hauled 100s of thousands of gallons of liquid cow shit with a 6000 gallon tank. There
is no fockn way you are moving that without a 400 hp tractor! Lol!

I read all you plans makes sense to me now.

Nice work! Hope it does exactly what you want it to do.

Got some real nice mounts in the mail today off ebay . 90.oo each to my door + tax . But fit real good & will save me a lot of time making them .

Then i had to modify the chain coupling gear to set back in more on the drive motor and clear the pilot hole and 2 bolt heads . But that was easy on my buddys lathe :saweet:

Making a mount for the mixer shaft drive motor . Will straddle the c-channel rib and have 2 triangle gussets . Its made from the only decent scrap i had easy . . . 8" x 1/2" thick c-channel . :yikes:

Drive motor mount on for mixer shaft . Yep it is beefy . But when your doin 9.33:1 reduction power it needs beefy .

Hydro tank is on and just needs plumbed in . Getting real close for sure on this sucker .

Waiting on 1 fitting to finish out the hydro . This was an expensive pile of stuff today . But lucky i had to buy 1 new hose . The rest were like new and just needed shorter and 1 fitting . Then adapter fitings from pipe thread to AN style . And my part store buddy hooked me up on 20gal of hydro fluid for a special price .

Well interesting day on hydros .

Fired up and system full . Found honda gx390 would not run up rpm like it was held back real hard . Turned on 2nd hydro motor and got more rpm but still not were it needed to be .

So called place that sold me parts and speced it all out . Talked with tech guy and he said i dont know who you talked with but they sold you WAY TO BIG a pump . Told him my needs and he agreed put the 5gpm back on and remove the 30gpm we sold / sent you and will give a refund .

After draining back out 12gal of fluid and swapping the pump we are back in action with full rpm and more consistent flow and motor drive flow . Got 500 psi at idle and 1 motor no load working .

Love the valve block with both levers having detents to hold and cruise control but will pop back if a blockage .

Cant wait to pump sealer and mix sealer for the full test . We are so close now .

Got my custom built chain tension unit made this morning . Works great and adjustable along with the spring for normal flex as the chain streches from new .

Started the front trailer hitch today . Recycled from my first pickup trailer i just retired. 1 of the last things before setting on the ground for good off the tables / stands .

Bolt on trailer hitch is done .

Filter pot needed room to fit . So scrap the idea of threaded pipe like normal . Make a flange and weldxit to the welded on fitting on the pot . Its so close now 2 of the bolts dont come out of the flange :yikes: but we got 1" clearance now and good to go .

Had to use the lube to get this 3" hose in place . 2 layer fabric and 2 core / strand of 1/8" wire . Will try and collapse this one :haha:

Finished all the underside and mid level work today . So off the table / jack stands and back to planet earth surface .

Weld paddles to shaft . Bolt rubbers on . Make lid . Rinse out and flush . And ready for fill up .

Ladder has been removed from the inside of the tank tonight . Last pics before hopping out .

Swept up all the grinding dust / chunks / what evers inside .

Bolted my rubber flaps on the mixer paddles . Double checked it all .

Monday 7am - 8am the virgin popping load will be here . 4,777 gal of concentrate then i add around 900 of water to get close to the mix ratio we like . Fine tune from there up to 950ish max .

Delivery day this morning . All went good and fast .

3" in/out pump with 275gpm max flow rate ( not for sealer tho ) . Drinks 35cfm air all the time it runs . Has a kubota diesel air compressor .

Its in the tank and mixed up already with the water to bring the concentrate to the proper mix ratio . Made around 5,500 gal of mixed sealer . Tank holds 6,000 gal max .

Well BIG update / problem . . . :yikes:

The tank has a huge 3" hole in the bottom and its empty now :doah:

But the good news is i put the 3" hole there and we have used a lot of sealer and already got our 2nd batch yesterday delivered . :saweet:

Had to swap up to a 15gpm hydro pump to get the fluid volume we needed for the unloader pump . But this caused a problem on the mixer motor being WAY to fast trying to make a milk shake .

Next we ordered a flow control / motor speed valve and plumbed it inline before the control levers so both can have there speed controled . Now the system works great and we are sailing in calm waters for now .

Love my freedom this tank provides me in my work life 1,000% . 5206.jpg5205.jpg
