I landed this thing for an awesome deal on craigslist.
Heres the thread
http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=298104

I went back in forth in my mind about weather or not I should leave it dually or go Single wheel.

I had a pile of parts still sitting around from this build
http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=278155

I managed to snag a set of 3/4 ton Trailmaster 4" front springs for cheap, so i decided to go ahead and lift it.
4" springs in front
3" blocks out back.

I really have no intentions to crawl this thing. I need it more as a run around, weekend ride, extraction, fourwheeler hualer for deer camp.
Just something functional for now and go from there.

As it sits now.
-88 V30
-454 Carb motor that replaced previous diesel motor.
-dana 60 front DRW axle with 4.56 gears and detroit locker. Crossover and springless arms.
-Dana 70b DRW converted to disc brakes and using 14 bolt SRW hubs to make it a super wide rear to match the front. 4.56 and a modded Powr lok from a ditch witch.
-th400 tranny and 205 t-case. both stock for now
-Running uncentered H1 wheels with some beat up 38" hawgs

Alot of people may frown on the fact I converted the dually, but after alot of thought I just have no need for a dually and id rather have it SRW since i just like that look better.

Im found someone that wants to swap me a SRW bed for my DRW bed. Also swapping my DRW 70hd for a 14B with detroit. Hopefully this weekend.

main objectives:
-install ORD brake lines
-ORD steering box brace
-weld on rear perches
-shocks front and rear
-get bed primed and installed
-get a set of 37" mtr or Bfg tires to replace the hawgs (they ride like hell)

Few pics olong the way, up to how it sits now.

Starting from here, im curious to see where it ends up. I have issues sticking to any sort of plan but i want to keep this one functional and reliable. Nothing overly exaggerated.

-Possibly a shackle flip out back, kinda like DIY's version
-Add hydro assist

I found six million of them, the day after I bought my 3/4 ton.

Thats what I wanted, but of course I settled for less and now have to make it into that. figures. :haha:

A little in the front, not much. I have 4" leafs with a zero rate and the axle is an inch forward.

Really needing to get a better set of tires and get shocks on this thing. Tires on there now death wobble like hell....I hope it's mainly the tires and lack of shocks.

Added the front brake lines today. Props again to ORD everything I have ever ordered from them is nearly flawless.

Hoping to get a bed on it this weekend and then work on the shock mounting. I picked up a set of cast ford towers for the front just need to weld tabs on both axles and get some proper shocks ordered after that.

You in me both, but it was getting out of hand and I was throwing more money at it than anything. And it wasn't even running.

Besides, as much as I love the 88-98 style...square body crew cabs have always been the one truck I really wanted.

The more i look at your rig in it's current set up the more I love it. With your set up does it have the same track width front and rear? Do you have a picture of the truck straight on from the front? I'm pretty convinced now that I want to do a lift on my truck. I really like how your truck looks with the H1's on it. Not sure if I want to go through the BS of swapping rear ends to get the width, though. Gonna have to start thinking about wheels now...

I'll try and get some straight ahead shots once I get the bed on. And after I find better tires I will get accurate measurements of width. The rear end swap really isn't that hard, same as a disc brake swap except you use SRW hubs rather than the drw ones.

I have an srw. Don't know if swapping in a 70 would be worth the time and money just to run unmolested h1's.

Oh ok, I gotcha now. Missed that before. I mean, you could run spacers but I wouldnt worry about it. Only reason I went with H1's I'd because I landed the dually axles for a pretty sweet deal and they already had 4.56 gears in them. I just added the lockers and reinstalled the gears. Saved me some change in the long run.

I wunner if I could put front dually adaptors on the back....

I wunner if I could put front dually adaptors on the back....

No. There was a dana70 that was a wide dually. All you gotta do is put SRW hubs on it and viola. H1's with no aftermarket spacers.

Exactly what I did ...

I see that now. I guess thats what i get. I ended up here from your other build thats now deceased, and for some how scrolled to the bottom without reading anything but the last post.

Stew, sorry for writing what you already knew. I didnt see your previous post.

I ain't even mad. But i am still wunnerin if i could make front adapters work on the back...

Seems I remember hearing something about factory adapters working on a rear. I'm not real sure what adapters you're talking about though. I mean, all else fails just pick up some wheel spacers
