I should have some extra bed metal to cover this hole if you want it. I'm in Parker. I bought it new to cover my fuel pump access hole but its a 4 foot long sheet and and I don't need that much.

Degreased the engine bay yesterday. The 8 year old asked why it smelled like firecrackers in the driveway.
It came with 1 ignition key and 0 door keys, so I dropped $16.99 on a new set.
Tools required: a Phillips and a flathead.

Always nice to clean up decades of dirt, even if you won't see the progress in the end. It always makes me feel better about the truck.
Did you lube the all if the mechanical stuff too? I have had to use a pick to scrape the old grease out of the window regulator tracks at times.

Shoot, I should have done that when I was in there. Silicone spray works well, I've heard.
I may have spent all morning at the junkyard with an owie to prove it.

My favorite junkyard in the Denver metro area is Colorado Auto and Parts. They've been around since 1959, don't charge admission, and until recently, served free popcorn.
They also have a bunch of older vehicles in the yard and some just for display purposes. Occasionally they have their air-cooled radial engined powered Plymouth pickup sitting in the lobby.

There was an '80 3+3 dually with a big block and a very picked over '89ish K5 hat I forgot to take a picture of. It had a ton of its sheet metal swazalled off.
I spent my time on these '85 specimens: a K5 Blazer and a C10 GMC Suburban.

I need to pass emissions every 2 years with regular license plates, or every 5 years if I get a historical tag. Regardless, I need to pass both a sniff test and a visual inspection.
I was complimented twice by other customers for my overflowing wheelbarrow on my way out. Not sure if that's a good thing or not.

Nice haul! I grew up going to Colorado auto and parts. Back then you didn't have to be 18 and sign a release like all yards do now. I got a ton of stuff for my Nova over the years out of that place.
Shouldn't be too hard to make it legal.

Thought about it. All the seals were dry and crusty. I left it for someone else to grab.
Not sure what the top hat for the core support is, but I don't think I got one.
I now realize I also need a driver's side exhaust manifold shield and a (charcoal?) emissions canister to sit up front behind the headlights.
I put some Tiger Patch exhaust bandaids on my muffler. Carole Baskin would be proud.
Dang it. Between the time I removed the gas filler neck panel and the AC compressor, another K5 enthusiast removed the fuel tank and some other stuff.
They may not be available for long.
Take a spray bottle with soapy water with you next time.
