Then we might have to live in it if she didn't work. Just kidding. We are thinking about maybe her working part time

That's how it is with my wife.
She works on call, could be a couple of hours a day or all day or sometimes nothing for a month.
And she can take it or leave it.
It's not really income but something to make her feel useful.

I finally got the tow rig, the camper, the trailer, and the Blazer all together in one photo. One very expensive shot. Works awesome though. IMG_20181007_163023.jpg

In September my brother and I did Idaho Tuff Truck Challenge. Towed my camper and blazer with my 89V3500 with an 8.1/NV4500 in it over there. Had lots of tools, spare parts, spare tires, and such for the event either on the trailer or in the camper and the truck towed it like a dream. My brother and I stayed in my camper and it was fantastic. Was a great time. My brother and I get lots of looks when we haul down the freeway like this

some may recall earlier in this thread I posted some pics of this camper. a friend had come over that used to be a tech at Camping World and was going to help me with the camper. then life got in the way. he got a new job and his days off and mine didn't line up. then he was on the hunt for a new house and finally found one with a shop.
a couple of weeks ago he came over and we went and bought shrink wrap and wrapped the camper with it. then I lifted it up using the red neck sketchy methods you see here. we walked the trailer under it and strapped it down. then I took it over to his house and we unloaded it and set it in his shop. he says it won't be a big deal to fix. this way he can work on it when he has time.

If it’s stupid and works, is it still stupid? My answer is no. Can’t wait to see more progress pictures.

Used the camper last weekend for a long weekend in Moab riding dirt bikes and picking up my new-to-me boat. I freaking love this camper :pimp:

if you look in the second pic from the bottom on the right hand side you will see a black Cherokee. it has a long arm on it and did have 36's on it. I told him if he fixed my camper I will trade him the Cherokee. I haven't wheeled it in about 12 years.
I look for a "new to me" camper all the time. but I think if I can spend a little bit getting this one fixed it would be better than spending a lot getting a new one or even a used one.

Absolutely dig the double doors! I Hate my single narrow door. I’ll tell ya, I’d Never buy another Northern Lite camper ever again, now that I’ve had to live in this thing. This has lots of things I would do Way differently if I were manufacturing these. Especially for the cost. I kinda want to write a bitch letter to NL. Just because. I’ve got lots of complaints that’s for sure.

Yep, I literally had never seen one like it before until I saw it for sale on Facebook. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to have it as it fits my needs perfectly. Luckily it was for sale in Colorado, so my brother picked it up for me once I bought it. Even right after I bought it, I tried to do research on it, and there is very little info on these things. It seems like Fleetwood RV only made them for a few years in the early 2000's (which is a little surprising to me as I would think these things would sell like crazy with these awesome open floor plans that allow you to haul stuff in them too).

But every single person that see's my camper says the same thing you did....nobody had seen one like this before. So glad I grabbed it up as soon as I saw it for sale

Two big doors, big open floor plan (but with still lots of storage space), and light too (mine is 1600 lbs dry/empty weight) because it doesn't have a bathroom or shower or anything (which I could care less about having in a truck bed camper). The more I use my camper the more I love it

I hate this addiction to want to build everything I’m not satisfied with. I want to build my own truck camper. I could damn well build a better camper.

My brother is in the early stages of a build of a custom semi that he is going to be putting a truck camper on it. And he has decided he's going to build his own camper too as he can't find one that fits what he wants for a reasonable price

I don't think there's stupid or smart ways.
    Everything is relative.
I can do things that others could die attempting to accomplish and there are things I wouldn't dream of trying and others do in their sleep.
Here everything has to be rated and classified or coded.
It's to fit the lowest common denominator.
    If it worked it's good.
