The Camper Thread

Yeah, I am in agreement there I think it's best just to live in the moment. With all the social media these day everyone is so self-absorbed. I have found some really cool things over the years. View attachment 230225
Heres is an old mine. Nothing that hasn't been found before or anything but still cool.
Plus all the things one the side of the road. I just don't know how @campfire has the patience to take all those pics and post them.. I try, but i just doubt that anyone else would find the things (I think are interesting), interesting.

Taking the pictures is the easy part. Sorting and writing the report is what takes a while. For me, I don't care if anyone finds them interesting. After posting thousands of pictures, I still don't think people really do find them interesting. I'm just creating a journal so I can look back on the adventures at a later date. It's an investment on my end, it gives me an easy starting place when I want to plan the next adventure.

The rest of you are just tagging along for the ride. :haha:

Campy usually has his wife take a lot of pictures, but they both are very good at capturing the moment, without missing what's in front of them.

Thanks. We trade the camera back and forth.

Of course, if you knew how many shots we miss, you might not think we're so good at capturing moments. ;)

That's a cool shot. I want to get out soon and see some old mines and/or ghost towns. I love that stuff.

Dooooooo it. Life is short!

I do to. But, after a point in time it's like everything else. It gets to be the same ol, same ol. I found that you need to keep it in smaller doses to keep appreciating it.

And do different things in different locations. I know so many people who do the same vacation every year.

Example: bought a condo time share in Hawaii, have seen everything there is to see. Now forced to go because they own it. They take me out to dinner after each of my trips to hear about them.

To a point, yes. But geography already limits what I'm able to see. At this rate I don't know that I will run out of things to see. I run out of time long before I run out of interest. I can pick any compass direction and quickly find something new, even close by.

It might depend on what you have nearby. :dunno:

Those fit better without a toolbox in the same truck.
Naw, really :D:whistle::rotfl:

Guy I got it from was like your taking the tool box out right? Uh.....nope :haha:

Inside is quite nice, needs a good clean, some paint and flooring. The front was rebuilt at one point in its life.

Going to gut all the old appliances, just keep the sink and most likely put it where the stove was.

Not for a 30 year old camper. We dont want the hassle of dealing with old appliances. Just a place out of the rain and dry place to sleep is what we want.

All we've ever done is tent, it gets old fast in the rain IMO. We did use my topper on the sassy sierra to sleep in a few times. But it's not that useful for anything but sleeping while camping.

Replaced the leaky faucet in the camper last night. It was leaking from the base of the spout. Pretty simple 10-15 minute repair. The wife said this one is too nice and shiny.

I do believe the plastic part is just to hold the spout in, and the o-ring is to keep the water from leaking, but something wasn't right. I took it off and cleaned it, but it didn't make a difference. Not sure if the plastic ring was supposed to be split or not. It didn't appear to be broken, as they split was a straight edge.

And the final product. Nice and new with zero leaks.
