The Crewbicon

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE
To update we found that the frame was tweaked and that the least expensive way to repair this was to find another frame, after all the most expensive suburban out of the three so far was $200.00.

This also gave me some time to get some work done around the house and clean up the shop.

So after a few months of looking and not finding what I want, I found this suburban for $500.00, it's a 1989 2500 with no rust at all, one small dent in the drivers door, even the windshield is in good condition along with the factory tinted glass, the interior is in good condition as well and get this it's the same color as the Dmax cc that I ordered from Chevy.

The down side is that the big block that was in it blew up and was discarded and the rear has a ff14 bolt but the front has coils and A arms.

So after siting outside on the trailer for some time the wife and I decided that I can't cut this one up and so the build is on, by building the suburban with the guts from the crew cab Ill be ahead of the game and if the suburban doesn't work out I can always transfer the crew cab onto the built suburban frame.

Sorry for those that have been watching this build but now you will an all new one to watch and I already have so many ideas in my head.
Stay tuned for my Burban build.

Too many cool projects!

I just went through your thread and all I can say is WOW!

The Willies was a cool piece of old iron.
Glad to see it will have new life with Ian.

The crew cab and service deck was an awesome combo too!
It was coming along very nicely.
The "lane change" was a surprise.

I am partial to the Burb's though.
Looking forward to see where your imagination takes you on this new project.

Good luck!!!

AWESOME build thus far on the crew cab!!!! I really dig the shortened utility bed!!!! :thumb:

The new direction looks cool too though, any updates on the Suburban build?

do you still have this...?

Man I want to do a set of fenders for the front of my suburban like yours. I've never taken on a sheet metal project like that though. You might have mentioned it but how much time do you have into them?

Little late to the party on this thread but I love what you're doing with the bed on your truck. :waytogo:

You don't want to know, without the use of an english wheel its all hammer and dollie work, it didn't help that it was 115 degrees that week.
