One two many people over here has asked me to put up a build thread over here so here it goes.

I will try and catch you up .

First off it is a crew cab on a suburban frame with one tons.

As always if you see anything or have any info that can help please share.
Around five months ago I started searching Craigslist and calling friends and here is my start.

The hart of the build.

The frame

The frontend, glass and wireing harness.

And the bed.

Im swapping out a set of one tons that I got out of CUCV 1031 with factory lockers both front and rear.

The frame has been striped of all brackets, painted and the rear axle and installed with a set of 56" springs and a DIY4x flip kit that I got off CL.

Picked up some new cab bushings and set the cab on the frame.
209.jpg

Painted the front axle and 52" springs and bolted them in, feels good to have a roller, cant wait to get my DIY4x Abomb front end kit.
213.jpg

Got some work done on the bed, now its time to start cuttin.
214.jpg

Picked up some seats from a friend, now I can start on the cage.
189.jpg

Heater core had a leak and rusted out the floor.

Cut it out.

Saved what might have been the only unrusted pannel of the burban.

These are the tires that I have, 13.5" 39.5" 17" Irocks just waiting on my wheels.

Here it is with bed on.

Well it looks like I have some more cutting to do, as long as I have room for my batteries in the lower boxs ill be happy.

Got some work done on the box, I bent up some tube and sliced it and notched the rear to slide over the box sides and create a fender.

Once I get the rear of the box done on the other side I will remove it and put the cap on the front of the boxes.

I did get started on the front fenders, with the 52" springs up front and 40" tires I had to make some room.

Moved the fender well up 2" back 1" and forwad 2".

So what do you think.
Now that the fun part is over I need to start sanding, welding and grinding, anyone want to help. :D

I've been following your build over there. I love it so far. I need to do this, not the box, but the cab. My body looks like wrinkled up foil.

I was able to get all the rust areas patched, painted and seats bolted in.
Now I can install everything on the firewall and get working on the cage.

Still need to build the strorage box under the seat and then get some floor liner in.

Over the weekend we went to the Offroad Expo in Pomona Ca. and had a great time and got some good ideas and a few parts.
I also had a great time talking to Ian Johnson from Xtreme about "the Crewbicon" and Fred Williams from fourwheeler about the cage on the ultimate off road truck along with a handfull of other people.
The best part is that when I got home I found a bomb on my front porch, not just any bomb a DIY4x A bomb front end, cleaned it up, painted it and put it on the truck.

I also found some H2s on CL. and got my tires mounted up and put on the truck, it sure is nice to have some real tires under it for a change.

I got some more work done on the bumper, it's off a cucv that I had some time ago, what do you think of it?
