I have been talking to a guy with a L8T and a 10L90E combo. Both under 40k miles. He bought for a build and is overwhelmed by the process.

I really like my L8T in my truck, and I really liked my L86 in my Sierra I had, but my 489 in the K10 is way more fun with more torque and HP.
The L8T is basically a very impressive 400 small block, but it's still a small block.
It does get better mileage.
The 10 speed does help too, there is always a gear that it likes.
But a nicely built big block almost don't care what gear its in.

This will be built for DD duties. Mileage will be a factor. The Jimmy will get the big block, for skinny peddle fun.
