The Evolution Revolution is on! OR Contractor Insanity Takes Hold

It's been a long aggravating wait for funds. Need some nice sheet metal to fix any rot when I do the body mounts. Winter coming fast and my ambitions of body work/mounts, deleting the 2 miles of glass in back, painting, etc look like far off dreams.
Still need the 10" steelies for the rear, bigger tires, rehab the front diff/hubs and get 4wd up again.
Some will shout BLASPHEMY about it I'm gonna run 33s with the 3.73s in back and 31s with the 3.42s up front to equal up the ratios. The rear stance will be wider then the front too. I think it will be the ultimate blizzard runner:D Same basic setup as my 70 Skylark was and I was pulling my buddies Ford pickups and Broncos out of ditches with TWO WHEEL DRIVE:waytogo: I just like the muscle car look.

Soooo.....when I get money. And metal. And build a tarp tent down in the holler. I'll try to get lots of pics.

Until then I'm droolin over build threads here......

I grew up on the *right* side of the Mason-Dixon Line (..y'all still not sore over that little 'ol war we won, is ya? ;-) ) in PA, but within a few minutes I could have been in Rising Sun. I was a Ford guy back then and used to cruise around in a beautiful red/white pick-n-up 150. We may have even crossed paths as I divided my time between Newark, PA, and Rising Sun......depending on where the party was..[/quote]

Hey man SCREW Mason n Dixon Maryland ain't Southern except for Cessle County  BTW My daughter got some scrapple the other day with bacon in it :waytogo:

The renovation has been on hold for months now. Lack of funds, a place to work on the beast and an outstanding storage bill holding my parts hostage put a real damper on things.
On a good note: I ran across a possible buy - A 350 target motor in a 70s school bus. It has a new/reman 2Jet Rochester and old style ram horn manifolds. The owner says it pulled that bus around nicely while fully loaded with tools. It would be a good 'transition' motor while I build my 73 010 block.
He also has some 14 gauge stainless sheets that would go a long way on my 'Suburban Delivery' mods and floor reconstruction.

Where are you buying 10" rally wheels?

Martin

I forgot about this post and posted another thread :doah:

When I was searching for the widened rallys before I had a few sites I checked out. But the shipping on any of them kills the deal. Most of them were in Cali, I'm in Maryland. Can't seem to find any manufacturers on this side of the country:confused: I did find 'rim shells' I could have my centers welded into, I've got a welding buddy I think could do it right but he's usually up on some tower or tank in another state.

I'M SOOOO BORED!!!!!!! No shelter to work on the beast,my drywall partner is pulling NonSupport Duty and it's been wonderful Alaskan weather every week here -IN MARYLAND!!!

All my parts ,and half my work stuff, is under the Big Red Lock in my storage trailer and will eat up half my Beast Fundage to get back. This year ain't startin' off very well..........and my truck decided it doesn't like this weather at ALL.....

Finally some headway :D

I got a pair of rear side doors for the 'burb. Rust free and match my interior!
I dropped a Goodwrench 350 out of a GMC 6000 Series Bus. Less than 10k miles on it. It's flat tappet now but it is roller ready :waytogo: My buddy has some Vortec heads, intake and cam he's pushing at me.
Looks like maybe a good Spring and Summer for the beast
