The Garage

That baby is HUGE. It's big enough to hold some of my stuff, too.

Spare room?

Kinda funny you say that. The pad of crete looked huge, then we put up the frame and then it seemed small again. Then the rafters went on and it seemed big again. Now, with some vehicles inside... Seems small again.

We did get the siding done today. Now its time to paint, then we can start on the doors and get things lockable.

Put some paint down on one side last night. Soaked up a lot of paint.

Taking the night off tonight. To damn hot again.

Got the big back side to paint yet and a portion of the far side to get the second coat done. Ran out of paint today so went to Menards and grabbed another 8 gallons. Also picked up a 100 amp panel and some direct bury cable while I was there. Be nice to have some power out there when I put the doors and openers in.

Lots of trim work to do but I can see light at the end of the tunnel.

Lighting! Interested in LED lighting, more specifically recessed into the ceiling. Anybody have any particular recommendations? Stuff I looked at today didn't seem very bright.

No help on brands but bunch of places down here in Florida are using the led replacement bulbs for the 4" fluorescent fixtures. Seem plenty bright in parking garages and such.

Don't know if this helps.

What I can say is that my "security" spot light would blow standard bulbs about every 6-8 months when I moved into my house. After about the third go around of changing them, I bought LED's. Same bulbs for 4 years+ now.

I like the idea of the big door in the middle then you can have a large amount of room on both sides and not be stuck against a wall on one side

Kinda my thoughts as well. Any work being done will most likely be done in the middle so the daily drivers can be backed out of the garage and then you have lots of room on either side. Currently my Camaro project is in the middle.

It's been nothing but in the way at the shop so the earliest I could move it home, that's exactly what I did.

It looks strange seeing a third gen without the front of the unibody.

Get some T5 fluorescent lights, they'll burn your retinas out. And I think you can use them if you ever want to start a grow house.

Are you going to paint the floor before you get all moved into it? A nice light grey industrial paint makes a world of difference on how bright it is inside.
