The Garage

Been pretty busy with big changes at the shop. I've been working on the garage interior whenever I can.

this weekend was pretty big. Got the entire inside painted. Started hanging lights and trim. The walls and ceiling were done in a flagstone grey and the trim is black.

Hope to install a few more lights tomorrow night and possibly hook them to the switches. I got a heater core to replace and pretty much out of time on that.

what kind of lights...LED, Fluorescent???

What did you paint your OSB with?

OSB was painted with some paint plus primer latex interior semi gloss. Laid it on heavy with a Wagner power painter. Pretty awesome sprayer really. Has a pump and hoses. Feeds out of the bucket. Also has an air turbine assist. Catches the paint and mists it rather than the pressure through a tip doing the work. Put on 2 good coats. Took 13 gallons.

Fourescent lights. These are some that I have had for a while. When these bulbs go i'll start switching over to LED replacements.

soaked up the paint then!

You'll like LED's...instant on, no ballast, better light....just a bit pricey compared to fluorescent, but worth it int the long run!

I've been buying the Costco 4'er for 23 each. They are just tough to find in stock.

I hope to have the rest of my fluorescents up very shortly.

I got a toolbox coming for the garage. I'm sure that will kick up a sh!t storm in here. Need to get a couple cabinets yet and get some shelving put together. Started hanging the stereo speakers. Probably finish that job today. Gona pick up some more trim.

Shopping air compressors now as well.

Speaker install is done.

Got a lot more trim painted and installed today. May get a couple more pieces yet. Kinda cool in the garage and slowing the paint process.

Only trim work left to do is the corners and not 100% certain what I want to do there.

Got my tool box in and set up. Got a couple more pieces I need to pick up yet, cabinet and smallish roll around box.

This air compressor kinda fell into my lap. Its a used unit, 1 year old. Was considering a new one exact same model. But hell, for the deal I got on this one, couldn't pass it up.

Also obviously started getting a bunch of things hung up.

The east wall, in the wifes parking space has been designated the hanging spot for shovels, brooms, rakes and the like.

I think a stereo is pretty high on the list now. Getting to the point where I want to start doing a few things in there on the weekend and am anxious to see how the speakers sounds.

I think a 2x2 sliced in 45* halves would make a cool corner piece for trim. Leave the angled face out.....

I don't believe I have a saw that would do that very well.

Got my 42" TV back from my son today. As a coincidence, he was no longer using it, sitting in the corner of his living room. Plugged in the firestick for Netflix and what not. Really need to get a wifi booster. Looked for a receiver but couldn't find what I wanted for a price I wanted to pay. I'll keep looking.

I did that. I got 1" wood chamfer strips, drilled holes and used 3" drywall screws to hold in place. Saved time by not having the finish the drywall in the corners and where the walls met the ceiling.

I love the axe and sledge have their places.. gotta be prepared for all things..

Everything should have its place. Got a few more items that need to be hung up yet. Chainsaw, weed wacker, etc.

When its all said and done, this shelving will wrap the perimeter of the garage at that 8' mark. It's 16" deep and just a little mental math approx. 66' linear foot of shelving. That's something like 88 sq. foot of storage space.

Daaaayyyyuuummm Kert, that shelving is the business!

A whole lotta money and work for garage shelves though
