The Green Machine - parked

Them are the ones! They had them out 5/6 years ago, I was looking into them to use in the 2000 K2500 I sold my dad

Yeah I remembered as I was looking at them why I didn't go with autometer, they only had the trans temp, and I wanted the oil temp as well. If only... No big deal though.

I was looking at that gauge pod thinking how it would block my line of sight. Then I remembered you're like a foot taller than me...

I'm 6'4” and my friend tried to get me to join the air force in high school. I don't like heights and cramped spaces, so that wasn't going to work so well...

I have a 6'2" friend who decided he wanted to go serve on a submarine... :doah:

Um, had he ever seen a movie involving subs? They look small in the movies and those are not even close to real world:whistle:

I always had a huge interest in aviation. Then I realized that being 6'6 and not liking anything taller than myself changed that. I understand where you're coming from fully

Also, I received new motor mounts from energy suspension, and have some zero rates for the front that need installing.

What days? I'm hoping to get this done next Monday (the one coming up) (9th October)

Finally got that Detroit installed, had a bit of a time with it...

So I traded with Ethan (campfire) my gov-lock carrier for his open carrier so I could install my Detroit. Problem was, the carrier break for a 14 bolt full float is 4.10, and I have 4.56 gears while Ethan's carrier had a 3.73 gear on it. Yeah... Didn't think about that until after I'm trying to tighten down the ring gear bolts and they bottomed out before they got tight. Long story short, I ended having to buy the correct carrier and installed it today. Sorry, no pictures of the insides of the diff with the Detroit in there.

I can definitely tell that it's a much more aggressive locker than the gov-lock was, doesn't take much to chirp the tires in a corner and if I let off the throttle during a turn it'll suddenly turn sharper. No clunking though.

Next, I put some zero-rates in the front springs to bring the front end up after the bumper install, sits about level now.

I need to find someone with an engine hoist I can borrow to install the new polyurethane engine mounts, so for now no dice on that.

Very short rant about Rough Country springs: they are crap. These springs rode rough as hell when I first installed them, so much so that I took out the overloads, then one wheeling trip on them, they sagged so bad the overloads went back in. Now every trip they sag a little more... To the point where they look like stock springs with a negative arch. I won't buy Rough Country's again, they're garbage.

I'll get a pair of Alcan springs made in a year or two.

ORD gets their springs from Alcan iirc. Or was it Deaver?
