Got a chubby watching that!

There are more videos but my brother and nephew both have I-phones while I have android. The different phones don't transfer video well between them. ****ing mobsters in Silicon Valley.
So where to start? I guess two years in 2022. After struggling with the tight converter, we finally broke into 3.8 after bring in the 3.9 forever. 2023 we did major changes to gearing and tire combo with the loose converter. We went backward big time. I think our fastest time was 4.3 something. I don't really really remember because I was really disgusted; we were all disgusted. After talking with my nephew, I wanted to keep the tire combo but change to the tighter converter and gear ratio. The problem is the front and rear split is really wide now due to the bigger rear tire and smaller front that is geared for 2% overdrive. We have to change the transfer case gearing to get to same wheel speed as the 3.8 pass. How we gear is leave the front alone. Change the back to get split we want (the 2% over front wheel speed) then gear the transfer case for overall wheel speed. We would have to buy new transfer case gears to be the same wheel speed as before. My nephew checked the wheel speed calculations on Grim Jeeper and found out if we go back to our other gears in the transfer case we would be close to the overall as the NP205 with the 3.89 rear axle ratio. Which we have plenty of data on and we have ran 3.9xx before. Unfortunately we were out of money for the fall of 2023 race.
May of 2024 we try again and we ran 4.1xx. An improvement but not in the 3.9 range. We also had problem with the transmission slipping. We loaded up defeated. Found out later we were low on fluid. We did a fluid change and made sure it full and hoped the best. We changed the tires to the Bigger Digger which we only ran twice before. Unfortunately one tire has a slow leak. We did a single stage test pass a weekend before the race and the transmission worked like it should. We went the races on 10/25 and did a single stage nitrous test pass and ran 4.1xx . One of our best passes on 1 kit. We did a two stage run and ran slightly slower. WTF. We didn't make qualifications because we have a dinner party to attend and we were running late. I down-loaded the data and we jump in my nephew's truck for a two hour drive. As I was going over the data, my engine builder called and asked what the Air/fuel ratio was. I looked up the Air/fuel and notice it was a 2. spread between the left and right on the two stage run. I wonder if the sensor reading right since I replace one before race and the one I put in was a used sensor. Checked the single stage run and the sensors read normal. My nephew over heard our conversation and something must of clicked. He pulls up a video made of the spring race that somebody else took, but it showed only one "candle" (exhaust) was lit only coming on momently during the run. The consensus was that there was something wrong the second stage.
After the dinner party, we went to our shop to pick up some nitrous solenoids. It was running late. We went to our homes to sleep and drove back to the races in the morning. The suspect side was the passenger side. I pulled the fender so I have more room to diagnose the problem. I try not disturb the wiring too much and did a feeler gauge test. If the solenoid was working correctly, it should pull on the feeler gauge when energized. It did not. Okay, is it getting power? Activate the system again and yes it is getting power. Did a continuity test and the coil failed. It was open. Okay, how to fix it? Take everything apart to replace the solenoid or replace only the coil part from one of the solenoids we brought. I opted to only replace just the coil for various reasons. Put everything together and get ready to make a test hit. We ran a personal best at 3.87x . We go back to the lanes to make our last test pass before qualifications. I messed staging and didn't get a good time slip.
My nephew lowered the wheelie bar, and tighten up the front shocks. We dialed in a 3.82 and pulled up for our first official run. I broke out with a 3.788 . ****ing finally broke in the 3.7XX!
We use telegram that way a lotIf both of you get the Telegram app you can send images or videos full resolution, just select file first, then select from the gallery. If you just attach a picture or video it will compress it somewhat, have to attach it as a file. It's basically a text messaging app that uses data instead of cellular network, and we have sent large full res videos that way multiple times, apple/android, doesn't matter.
Awesome runs! It always feels good to get a new PB, especially after so much work!
I just realized I never followed up on this.View attachment 457173
Designing a new bracket the old fashioned way.
Still in pencil with some ink.
It's probably good enough for to lay it out on some material.
Such a badass photo. That would be awesome for the calendar on halloween.

Unfortunately, there is a water mark on the door.

Nephew already bought it."You could own that pic without the water mark for 4 monthly installments of..... "![]()
