Congrats, the midyears are definitely my favorite body.

It's a 327/4 speed, mostly original. Blower Drive Service took the 327 apart in the 70's, rebuilt the engine with a high vacuum cam, and did some work to this '65 Rochester injection unit to match the engine. Custom intake, gold plated the lid. My grandfather never could get it to run quite right, or it would leak. She has a 4 barrel on her now.

I'm gonna do some much needed work through the winter. Rewiring, a 5 speed swap (TKX close ratio with .68 overdrive, found one with 0 miles), and new suspension bushings. I drive it a lot, so I would like 5th gear, and while I'm at it, I'm gonna build a regular old 327 to go in her. I'm gonna put the current 327 on a run stand and get the Rochester working nicely, which will probably take some time. This way, the car isn't down while I figure out the system. Then the original engine will go back in!

Those Rochester fuelie units could be quite temperamental. I got a friend that had a 64 Fuelie, and he was meticulous about tuning it. With a 70 LT-1 engine, stock w sidemount hookers and the fuelie unit (and I believe he said dual flow meters?) he ran a best of 12.45 w it. Impressive when they’re tuned right.
And yeah, what a display piece for the table. I think I would have it on my dinner table!

BUSY BUSY BUSY

Everything that could go wrong did in fact go wrong. I straight up put 20+h over the last few days into getting the axle set up and installed. I won't even get into the details because it would be a 2000 word essay, but EVERYTHING THAT COULD have a problem, did have a problem. Even the housing had the wrong ends on it.

BUT, got it sorted and have been driving it to work the last 2 days. I need to relocate my 2 link because my instant center is now different, but they should be good enough for this trip to the dunes! I leave tomorrow morning, so it'll have to be, lol.

The U-bolts are very long (again) but I had to remove the leveling spacers for now. I plan on putting them back in, so the bolts remain long. Hopefully they don't hit my limit strap brackets! Will report back, it's 4h each way so I'll get a good idea of what's wrong by the time I get home leaving first thing in the AM
