The hoodride build... my '70 K5

I may have read over it, But if you are still needing to remove the studs in the tires a little dish soap and a small flat head screwdriver will pull them right out. After the first 10 shouldnt take more than a couple seconds per stud after the initial learning curve.

Awsome rig

Quick update: I torched the bumper off (HOLY CRAP WAS THIS THING WELDED ON THERE) it took forever.... There was 1/4" steel plate on the inside of the rail, and 1/4" angle iron on the outside and it was booger welded EVERYWHERE.... I'll get a picture of the whole truck to see how much better it looks but here's a pic of all the crap I had to get through to get the behemoth off.

Thanks for the compliment,

I ended up just leaving them, I can't hardly notice them and they are just wearing down anyways.

Not much as far as updates lately, been wheeling and testing, had to bypass the heater core because of leakage but that's about it as far as breakage.

Started school yesterday so hopefully I can start incorporating some school projects with the blazer :)

Question: I am itching to continue progress on the blazer but school zapped all of my cash... any ideas on low to no cost projects?

I was looking for the same kind stuff and realized I hadn't yet shaved the lower lip of my rear axle. Easy way to gain a little ground clearance and even reduces wind drag just a smidge. :)

went wheeling, broke a ujoint, and then later it started farting, hickuping and acting real weird/sluggish in the low RPM's and didn't get very many pics, but somehow managed to snap a couple poser shots (can't forget those right?) :D

oh and I think it's about time I replaced the body mounts because one fell out after these pics were taken, and I couldn't seem to open my door, or close the passenger door.

Gotta love all that body twist w/o the hardtop on!

I HATE having no money. She sits and sits and sits... carb needs to be rebuilt and ujoint still snapped. wheel bearings need to be replaced. All not very expensive but no job=no cash, and 23 units + senior project= no time. So who wants to come do all this for me and supply all the parts? I'll cook you a meal or something :)

:D

If you don't have $$$ the truck will wait until you do. They're much better than women from that perspective...

Wheeling isn't a poor-man's sport, so it's probably better that you not go out much if you can't afford to buy replacement parts. The ol' girl is twice your age you you're going to have to expect she's going to need some TLC and infusions of fresh parts to keep her happy.

I've got a bunch of new wheel bearings for a 1/2 ton you can have. I can't bring myself to throw them out. If you know the part numbers, I can check if I have the right ones.
