The Jaws K5 Blazer

Chief, do you have a picture of the correct mirrors? I think you know what you are talking about, but not sure.

I'll check around down here. That are some old chevys around here that might have what you need.

Aha! Yep, remember those well. Fixed one for a fellow back in the day.
I'll scrounge around this weekend and see if anyone has a truck in their backyard that might have those.

Problem is, they are not real "hunter friendly" around here. If you do much hunting, a tree is going to ruin that mirror's whole day real quick.

Gonna go borrow more parts from your neighbor? Haha.

As a matter of fact, that is going to be one of my first stops. If he has a set, its just a matter of judging his level of intoxication or "height" so as to know when to ask him for them.

Catch him nice and mellow, I might have trouble keeping him from giving me the whole truck.

Of course, there is the problem of judging how he is going to react.
Couple of years back, he missed a court hearing for one of his many arrests. The sheriff knew that he was just probably so stoned he forgot, so he told his deputy to go by, explain it to him, give him a ride to the courthouse to schedule a new hearing.

They knocked on his door, explained to him he was not under arrest if he would just ride into town and get a new hearing set.

He slammed the door in their face, ran out the back, jumped into one of the few vehicles he had that had gas and would run and took off through the woods.

They took off after him. I didn't see the truck afterward, so I don't know what he was driving. But he tried to drive between two large pine trees about 8 inches too close between.
Somehow he wiggled out the window, and ran into a friend of mine's cornfield.

He wouldn't come out, so they sent in a dog. Dog found him just fine.

They finally got him to the sheriff's office.
He was standing there in handcuffs, and the sheriff was explaining to him he was not in more trouble, and if the judge was willing, he could go home after the meeting.

He kicked the sheriff's twins up to about his navel..........

Just doesn't have good sense.

I am pretty sure a guy up here in Spokane is the one who built that re-creation. Kinda cool.

edit: Yup it was done here in spokane I recognize the shop.

CB give me a buzz or a text . I just asked him for a close up of the chrome , and he said glass is good make offer.

That probably wasn't the only set you overlooked there. Those were pretty common mirrors...

I would think you should be able to score a set here easy enough if you put up an ad in the classifieds.

This type of mirror looks like rust waiting to happen....the other mirrors have a gasket to seal them...are there little gaskets to seal these holes also? :dunno:

Is it just that screen capture, or does the real Chief Brody truck have a silver-painted front bumper? (aka. Hillbilly chrome). :dunno:

It certainly doesn't look as bright as the other image.

No...the blazer is in motion creating a blur that makes it look that way...that's a new chrome bumper on a new Blazer...

My '83 has the 5 point larger cousin to those mirrors. They use a plastic insert nut in the door which I'm quite sure is sealed as my doors haven't rusted around the mirror mount holes yet and they're original doors with original paint. A nut and bolt through a plain drilled hole is begging for trouble though.

Thanks to everybody that was looking for the mirrors for me....I went to two parts yards today and got all they had...3 sets of mirrors....each in different condition.
I can piece together a good set out of all the parts.

I have a question....which ones were stock? One set is stamped "Lo-Mar" on the back and the other is "da" or "dp" with a Maple Leaf.....
