The Jaws K5 Blazer

missing badges
wrong color
wrong mirrors
Cb antenna looks to be in wrong spot

that was just at first glance.

Betcha Cheif Does not Approve.

I will admit that is a nice looking job. The Chief's will be better and way more correct, but they will be about even for clean.

I see it has the extremely rare factory option of front locking hubs combined with full time 4wd.........:dunno:

Seller was probably misinformed and didn't understand the 203 and its ability to be converted to part-time. For all we know, it was probably already converted and the seller didn't know.

Nice rig BTW. I liked it. The signs, surf board and first aid kit were nice touches.

how about that turbo fire 8 cylinder 5.7 ?? :haha:
I read 350c.i. turbofire V-8....which is right.

Dam good looking truck, although as mentioned not 100% correct per the picture posted...did they use different trucks in the movie(s)?

I was going to say last night the color was off but i was not sure. glad im not the only one who saw it.

OMFG.... I Can't wait till CB see's this... :haha:

I can't believe they filled all the hardtop mounting holes and window area in the tailgate.

This is at least the second time this has been listed on eBay. As mentioned the color is wrong, which is the most glaring error IMO. If you're building a tribute to a movie vehicle at least get the color right.

I've done that before, so you can run in 2wd with the transfercase in HI-LOC.

Very true, but in a very limited defense of them, that was one of the hardest things the Chief ran into was finding that color.
It seems to have been a limited run, and almost unavailable today.

I have never watched that movie to study that truck. If I ever get a chance, I'm going to do so.

But, in that screen capture above, I notice something interesting.

There is a lot of glare, but it looks like someone might have hooked to the driver's side front bumper to pull it out and bent the bottom out.

Which brings up an interesting question. I never caught the reproduction bug, most of my stuff is functional not showy.

But, if the Blazer in the movie has that damage, do you duplicate the damage for accuracy, or make your version as perfect a reproduction of how it was when new?

I'm guessing its a matter of personal taste for the reproducer, but I wonder if there are rules about that for someone trying to sell one.

I think it would be rare to only have ONE vehicle on set, therefore trying to make things like minor dents, dings, bumper mis-alignment, etc would be hard to get "correct" for the movie.

It is not perfect but I think it is a faithful recreation. Did the k5s of that vintage come with the air cleaner decal?

OK...Ok....I'm just ticked because somebody has seemingly beat me to my own punch...

That said, the color definitely is wrong and that would ruin it for me...yes the mirrors are wrong too...but I have that same problem...I can't find the "correct" tripod mirrors.

I have resigned myself to the fact that I most likely won't be able to make it exact...if I am going to put correct mirrors on, that needs to be done now...while I have the doors in primer and can drill the holes and fill the others...

The front tag is wrong...I already have the correct tag for that...
I don't believe his roll bar is correct either...the real one looked like a leftover from a 1972...some more vertical type support posts...my roll bar is not Jaws "correct" either

It's a very nice looking Blazer though....but there's only room in Amity for one Police Chief...and I bet his doesn't have an M1 Garand.:eek1:

I am going to affectionately call that one the "Deputy Hendricks model"...

Oh...and his seats are wrong too....Craig Artzner has the real correct ones front and back...
