The life, death, and rebirth of my K5 Build.

umm lets see...dont EVER pressure wash the axle tubes from the outside in with the pinion assembly still in the axle, it makes for A LOT of excess work for yourself.

while your at it get a brand new tierod for the axle, d44 style that has the droped TREs since your gonna have flat tops now, it will make you life a lot easier, and will cure almost all the DW problems you probably would have incountered reusing the stock (probably worn out) tierod, changed mine last night and its a night and day difference

nothing else realy stands out to me at the moment, its all tiedous work, just like it was to strip the axle

Yeah, i'll be replacing all seals, balljoints, ect. I was planning on a new tierod as well. I was reading up about using the stock tierod for crossover, so i'll prob use the old one for that. could you possibly post up some pics? thanks alot man.

Heres some pics someone posted for me on fsc. It'll give you an idea what i'm going for. enjoy!

Well, I just got home with my truck, Runs very well, tranny sucks and is on its death bed, but it got home from the 50+ mile trip under its own power, for 350 bucks I cannot complain. It actually runs well enough that it has me thinking about fixing it up enough to drive it for awhile, Gonna go mess with it for awhile, will update with pics in a little bit.

Well, she sure does pull a nice burnout! I have a bunch of little things to fix on it. but I think this truck deserves to be used for quite a bit longer. I can find a cab for the blazer for cheap, and since I have 900 parts for the 85 style, it just seems like a better idea to fix this truck up, for 350 bucks, I am completely estatic. Pic time!

What do ya think? :)

WOW! fpr 350 the paint is damn nice! hell id pay taht if i could get my blazer painted that pretty!

NICE SCORE!

The 350 runs TOP! the tranny is iffy, but thats no big deal, it has a few rust spots, but for 350 bucks I could not be happier, I think a 3" body lift, some 33's, and some duals will finish her off, and i'll have a nice work truck that I won't be scared to scratch all up. :)

Got to love craigslist. and to think if I never would have went to look at that POS 68 stepside, I wouldn't have looked at this truck. :)
