The new shop. Progress.

You are correct. If I can click off some small stuff, it feels like I accomplished something.

Now for a fail. Needed to add handles to the fireplace doors. Bought Harbor Freight chipping hammers to cut down and weld on.

Drilled a hole. Tapered the back of the hole and the pointed end of the hammer. Cut a small amount off of the hammer. Cleaned everything. Welded on the back side. Put everything away. Picked up one door by the handle and it broke off.

Looking at it, the hammer broke off in the hole. The hammer had a taper on it. The broken piece is still in the bottom of the hole. Stupid chinesium crap.PXL_20231210_212431870.jpgPXL_20231210_212427158.jpg

Needed more triangulation.

Cool idea!

The new welding table is going together.

I have had it since Wednesday. Finally unwrapped it.

Some assembly required.

PXL_20231223_230026949.jpg

I need ideas on a way to level it when placed. It will be moved when not in use. I am thinking a plate on the bottom of the leg with a 3/4 inch bolt with the head on the floor. Will that be enough?

Then I want to make roller plates for each leg to set it on when I need to move it.

Don't mind the cluttered shop. I have 4 things going right now. Can not finish anything.

I think @AgDieseler found some trick adjustable casters for his table. Not sure how pricey they are though

I will look forward to his input.

How much weight, including the table, does it need to support, worst case on one leg? I can do a quick check.

Table weighs 400 pounds. A doubt I would put anything heavier than 200 pounds on it.
