The Original Jaws Blazer Build

Soooo, when is chapter 2?

I think the rust and bodywork thread unintentionally but necessarily veered me off the build thread...I think when it's finally in paint and the body work is done the Brody Blazer build will continue to Chapter two....upholstery and trim and all that stuff that makes it "correct" to be a Martin Brody Blazer....
there's also the dreaded wiring to do....and the power train to reinstall...lot's of non-bodywork related stuff....

I want the Ryoken Guide thread to continue even after I have finished....as long as Paul feels like answering questions and tutoring it's like a one stop shop for beginners to start doing bodywork and a quick-guide full of Paul's methods and suggestions...this phase of the build is the most critical...and didn't need to be buried in a driveway build thread, but the rust repair and bodywork just makes it a Blazer...it's the rest that will make it a "correct" version and accurate representation...

Hopefully one of these days I will be able to post a pic of my Blazer in the driveway of the Brody house in Edgartown Martha's Vineyard...whatever Chapter that is, it will be the best....

Maybe I could persuade Ryoken to build a replica of the Orca and he can cruise it Manemsha bay...maybe take you along for ballast and drink Naraganssetts whiles sharkin'....:haha: That'd make you Hooper by default... that means you get in the anti shark cage

meh, crush them wood boats... I'm done playing with them! ;)

With you years of knowledge and skill with boats....could you build a real life replica of Capt. Quint's boat, the ORCA?

We won't get to the logistics of it yet, I just want to know if you could do it? :eek1:

I'm not a wood boat builder per se, but I've done enough plank and structural work over the years to say, yes, I could... if I had the drawings or templates... steaming planks, chinking, etc is all stuff I've done in varying quantities over the yrs... none, the last 3, 4 yrs tho thankfully...

I am also friends with the 2 best wood boat guys in Joysey and learned much from them... I played with a ton of that stuff at my last marina... I don't miss it tho...

I was thinking more of an existing shrimping boat or something that just need to be chopped and modified....

sometimes that makes it easier.. the other aspect is proper machines for doing that kinda work... we had a serious wood capability at my other marina, wood stock and tool-wise... quality mahogany and teak is coin these days...

I know 10 times about boats than what I know about cars.... :doah:

Holy mother of pearl! The mirrors I found on eBay are in better condition than I could have imagined...I mean they look brand new...one of them has a couple scratches on the mirror actually looks like a human hair, this was done from improper storage, but other than that, they are absolutely perfect!

I'll make pictures when I get home...but this is the best "accessory" find that I have to date....and the price was so low it will make you cry. :eek1:

Will have to wait till the weekend to take pictures...all I get is flash in the house...gonna take outside light to get pictures

Good news! They looked great in the pics so the fact that they look great in real life is awesome! Congrats man!
