BGR bumper and koh cage.
Help me out guys, I can't wheel or shoot over here, so turning to R/C.
I've got a HPI crawler king that I picked up for the kids. Its ok, but I guess it needs a new steering servo, as I get almost nothing out of steering in put now.
I'm kind of itching for a Wraith or Slash 4x4. I live in an apt, don't really have anywhere I can set up a rock course, but the beach with volcanic rock is just a couple blocks away. I'm just not sure which route I want to go with.

Sand is a blast with a Slayer 4x4. Rocks, go with a crawler. The Wraith is fun because it has a little more speed than a true crawler.
Be careful with the wraith if you do mostly crawling tho. I smoked my stock motor even after gearing down. They're great for all around horsing around tho. I miss my top speed after switching to a more crawler setup

Does anybody here race in the VTA (vintage trans am) class? Seems like it would be fun, and the rules seem to keep it pretty even car wise.

Got a lil motivation on my slash tonight. Got a C10 body painted/trimmed off ebay for a good price. Bought extended body mounts, but i want this thing low slung. So Its on the stock body mounts, took some cutting but everything clears for the most part. Not sure what Imma do for bumpers, got the RPM's on it now but the seem to stick out a fair bit. Also got some LED lights I might mount on it as well.

some 2.8" trenchers off a Pede, and a new Mamba pro ESC. Guy was selling 4-5k worth of parts in town. From what ive read that Mamba Pro should wake the velineon motor up. Picked both up for a hundred bucks, pretty good buy if you ask me.

They have their definite bling bling factor. But the problem I had was the steering angles, you only get about 22-25 degrees out of them and I couldn't keep a set of gears in them for the life of me.
I ended up offing them to a builder and built a set of scx10 axles but with the rcbros burly tube mod so they're about 7/8-1" wider than a stock scx10 and I can get 50 degrees of steering out of them and run hd gears. with the front and rear steer in the truck i can literally spin on a 10" circle.

Also once I did get rid of them I noticed my center of gravity was a lot lower and I can out do most scx10's i crawl with because i still have the width that i wanted initially.
