The R/C Garage... [R/C Drivers Lounge]

OK just looking for help. I want to get my son a RC. I want it to be somewhat fast but also be able to control it. Would like a Blazer body (full vert with cage would cool) and easy to take care of ie. batteries and parts. Is this possible? I've read quite a bit here and my head is spinning:eek1: I think Thumpers 1.9 scale is a nice size?

Thanks

There are certainly a lot of options out there. My advice would be to pick up an Axial SCX10 based truck. There are many, and they are all 1.9 tires sized initially, which is fun and realistic. Tons of aftermarket, very durable, and awesome performance. There are a couple Blazer bodies that fit, as well as numerous others, and the wheelbase is easily changed. Cruise over to towerhobbies.com and type in Axial SCX10 to see the different models. They come Ready to run and kit, the latter requiring all electronics. Neither include batteries or chargers. If you want to keep it simple, pick up a good 3000-5000 NIMH pack and cheap peak charger and you'd be good to go.

Thanks. Does the peak charger prevent you from over charging and ruining batteries? I don't want this and I know if it's possible it will happen.

Well considered my options, got some cappu wraith axles for the scx. Ends are on order, going to do the ready rod upper links. Just waiting for the link ends to get here now.

Talked to JJ, he was of great help.

Figured I'd try these cappu pieces out. Seems I can't find any thing about their axles so figured I'd try em.

Started the wroncho swap. Got the rear all mocked up. Wheel base stretched 1/4-1/2". Quite liking the look so far.

Haven't touched the wroncho at all, ordered a 3mm bolt kit, grub screws, driveshaft bolts for it.

Bought a vaterra ascender today, rc4wd boggers and wheels, king shocks and other this and that's.

Mine has the white top, and the white two tone on the side. Took me a day to mask it all off.

Love the wroncho Jesse, thinking about buying wrath axles for mine.
