New direction for the build: the RedBurb is now a Low Rider.

Just kidding. Good help is hard to find but I found it. A friend came over yesterday evening and we got to work pulling the frame out from under the shell. With the impending storms and weather deteriorating later today, I didn’t want to try to do it this evening and I didn’t want to wait until after the storm.
The frame is tucked away on the side of the house and ready to be torn down.

I’ll admit, doing this with only a floor jack, blocks of wood, jack stands, and concrete blocks, was one of the sketchier things I’ve ever done. Getting the shell from floating 2 feet in the air down to the ground on an unlevel slab was nerve racking, but we did it without any issues. Again, good help.

But, oh man, look at that sheet metal. This is cheating.

The focus over the next few weeks will be prepping the roof for paint. With the shell this low to the ground, it will make easy work. Time for me to upgrade from rattle cans to spray guns.
Once I get on the other side of Turkey Day, I’ll start stripping down the frame and getting it ready for its new brackets and crossmembers.
Good things are coming.
