The Shop Truck

1971 Chevy C20 with a custom flat bed.
The thought has crossed my mind.
I think I have everything to swap to my old 6.0 with all the accessories that are on the current engine. I'm even going to swap the timing chain cover and timing chain so I can use the front cam pickup and not have to re-do the wiring harness as much. I just need to swap the crank sensor connector and flip two wires there.

Shit dude. Saw your post that it was up running was like... yay! And then the post about the noise and the pic... Oof...

4.25" :yikes:
My 454 LS ones aren't even that big. Lol. That an aluminum block or steel?

I was hoping not 4.25 if it was the steel block, because that's max bore on it.
Wouldn't leave many options if the bore was toasted.

It is the Dart SHP Pro block and yes I believe 4.25 is the max bore size, but I wouldn't boost it at that size.
I gave the old 6.0 a rattle can rebuild and bolted on all the parts from the race engine. I'm waiting on longer studs for the High Ram with the adapters, but I'll have them tomorrow.
Fingers crossed it should be running tomorrow.

The lipstick was properly applied to the pig of a 6.0.

It runs! I did almost push it out back and start it on fire. It had a BAD knock (worse than the other engine) on startup, I'm thinking one of the lifters was collapsed and it took a while for the 20/50 alien blood (Driven GP1) to fill it back up? Whatever it was it went away after the engine warmed up.

what are your thoughts on that holley intake? It sure looks better than the stock ones, but I've heard that they actually produce less power. I can't remember where I heard that, so could be BS. Hence the question. :)

They produce quite a bit less below about 4k. Above that they do alright and pass the stockers.

Not an intake for a DD probably, but a fun mobile they're good.

It runs surprisingly well with the bone stock 6.0, 1300cc injectors, 1 7/8" headers, and the Holley high ram.
My butt dunno tells me it's making more power than the stock intake, but I'm not sure. I got the intake because I plan on boosting it and it had options for intercoolers and nitrous plates that bolt in.
