My engine shop wouldn't finish my bore until I brought one of my pistons in. That way he could measure it and get exact needed bore size.
He needed to know if it was 2618 or 4032 also because I guess they expand differently

They already have my pistons, I just need to replace one.
Sounds like you found a good shop and I need to pull my heads off for a port job.
I've heard that they have some good CNC programs based off their head guys manual porting.
If you were back east I'd recommend my cousin Cory. Used to build heads for Richard Childress Racing. Now works for a place called Prestige Motorsports in NC.
I picked the block up today!
The ended up honing it .001" and putting new cam bearings in. I'm still waiting on the piston (JE shut down for 3 weeks and just opened back up this week), but it should be here next week. We can finally start reassembling the engine!
I'm going to replace all the bearings, they got some wear, most likely from starting it with the no oil pump. I'm hoping to get it as assembled as possible so I can just slap the last piston/rod in when it shows up.

I hope you are more gentle than that with it.
Whatever I do will be more gentle than the last time that engine went down the track.

Yes, the race engine. I melted a valve, burnt the head, and damaged a piston on my last run at Duct Tape Drags.
Should rename the truck Baby SealGotta smack that F***r around now, so it knows just how it'll be treated when it's in the truck
