The Shop Truck

1971 Chevy C20 with a custom flat bed.
The holley harness is a good starting point, and gives you something to mod off of. But does need some modding here and there.

Brown Santa stopped by again today, this time it was even more exciting!
6 weeks ago I ordered this kit along with all the other parts I need to support it.

It's the full Wegner kit for the Whipple 3.0L supercharger. This should put me around 7-800HP with the street pulley and 11-1200HP with the drag pully. Now I just have to finish putting everything else together, break the engine in, and install the supercharger...
The Wegner kit is really going to make it look like a show truck. Good thing it will still perform.

112MM throttle body (tall boy for size comparison).

It's going to suck in all the air!

I'm personally steering away from whipple solely because it says it REQUIRES the wegner system.
And I refuse to pay that much lol.

I looked at a lot of different options and this just made the most sense. Honestly if you include my cost of all the parts that this kit is replacing, this was cheaper than going twin turbo by quite a bit. It comes with everything but the injectors and sensors.

If you look at everything it comes with, the price isn't that bad. It would be tough to build your own kit making similar power for less unless you got a deal on a used setup.

It's the wegner kit I don't want to pay for the whipple its self ain't bad. And I KNOW there's gotta be a way to drive it without the a wegner kit.
That kit looks cool, but they're smokin crack on the price.

I disagree, I don't know how you'd do it for less unless you own your own CNC machine. You can tell them not to include the power steering pump, all the fancy pulley covers, no alternator, no water pump etc. to get the price down. They also offer a 10% veterans discount on their parts.

No way in hell I'm paying 4k + for my accessory brackets. Lol.
Says STARTING at $4200.
Nope! Lol.
I can get the full drive setup I need to run a ls7 magnuson from ict billet for about $1000.
Cheaper if I wasn't buying the second alt bracket too.

And I KNEW you were going twin screw :thumb: :haha:

Starting at $4200, with an ATI damper, secondary pully for the ATI damper, PSC power steering pump, alternator, water pump, your choice of 2 upper pulleys, all the fancy pully covers, an A/C compressor, belts, tensioners, idler pulleys, mounting brackets, etc.
What do you get for $1000? The mounting brackets?

Yep... That's all I need lol

My point is that you could buy just that from Wegner. $4200 is the starting point, but if you take a bunch of expensive things off, it goes down.
I seen the $4200 and thought all the wheels and accessories and all that ADD to that. Lol
That's a terrible choice of wording on their part.
If it can be lower, then it 'starts' at that lower point . :haha:
I'll look through their deal again:waytogo:

You'll likely just have to call them if you want to get a good idea of what you can and can't do. You can't even order from their website, you have to call them.
I worked on the truck a bit more today, I finalized the wiring on the drivers side and wanted to show a before/after to show what I'm cleaning up. The first picture is what it used to look like, it's not the best picture, but it's what I could find. You can see wires wrapping up on the cowl, multiple grommets everywhere and wires going every which way.

This is all the wires that will be coming out on the drivers side, nothing will be on the cowl, everything will go into the fender and be hidden except what you see in this shot.

What injectors are you going to be running for that?
