The Shop Truck

1971 Chevy C20 with a custom flat bed.
I'm not sure when I'm going to get all the details and videos posted, but I wanted to make a quick post tonight for a status update.
Everything went phenomenally well. The only problems and hiccups were me remembering how to drive and trying to figure out the 2-step with foot braking.
The weather was cooler than expected, there were probably only 100 cars that were racing, maybe less. Since the car was just tuned with the small pulley, I didn't even bother looking at my logs. I just kept getting back in line and running it.
I'm sorry to report that I never put the small pulley on. I'm happy to report that the reason for that is that I ran an 11.38@117mph with the big pully. Thankfully nobody yelled at me.
I'll try to get the video and time slips posted tomorrow. I think I broke every PB I had before tonight. It's a beast.

That’s great news. I hope she continues that trend and gives you lots of good things. It’s got to feel good after all the trouble you’ve had!

Yes, it was euphoric. We were so pumped up we couldn't go to sleep until 3AM.
This! The party pulley can wait until it’s caged and running 10’s
That's the plan. Last night went so well, we're not going back until we can run the small pulley.

I'm going through all the data this morning, but I thought I'd post up my run report here.
-First Run: We were the first one staged for the night. I did the craziest burnout bouncing off the rev limiter into 3rd, I need to tame that down a bit, I'm not used to the supercharger. I pulled up to the light, lit the second bulb, hit the brake and the 2-step button, floored it, my finger slipped off the 2-step button and the truck jumped forward about 10 feet so I drove down track with my tail between my legs, no timeslip.
-Second Run: I mellowed out the burnout too much, but it didn't matter, the truck dead hooked anyways. It felt ridiculously fast, so I let off at the 1000' to make sure I didn't go quicker than 11.5. This broke all previous bests up to the 1000'.
11.615 @ 99.02mph ([email protected] in the 1/8th)
-Third Run: I didn't have my foot on the brake hard enough and it rolled through the beams when I put it on the 2 step. If you subtract the difference between the 2nd run 60' it comes out to be an 11.5. I also went down the track side by side with a camaro that also ran an 11.5.

-Fourth Run: This time I forgot to let go of the 2-step button when I let go of the foot brake. I'll get it right on the next run.

-Fifth Run: I got it Right! There were also 2 oil downs and I was the first one in the staging lane so the truck was the coolest it had been all night. This run reset all my PBs except the reaction time (which wasn't bad at .121).

-Sixth Run: I got this one right too! The truck was hotter, and my R/T sucked (.533) but it was still a great run.

I collected DA data last night for the first time. It's hot here and the track is at 1145' elevation. DA started at 5146' and dropped down to 4724' by the last run. This thing is going to be stupid fast in good air.

Does anyone know where I can get +25mm offset 8 lug 9" beadlocks???

If they are different at all with the beadlock it could be an issue though. With the 28x10.5R17 BDRs on there I think you can slip a piece of paper between the bed rail and the sidewall, barely.

Eh.... I'm sure you have a grinder and welder around there somewhere...:D
Wouldn't be the first thing you revised lol.
