The Shop Truck

1971 Chevy C20 with a custom flat bed.
Today I installed some electric cutouts. I was going to do like @ktmoutfront did and just use a switch to activate them, but the ones I got are 3 wire, positive, ground, and signal. I'm not sure what kind of signal it needs, but it is power open and close so it's 2 different signals. I liked the form factor of this one better than the style that have the 3 bolt flange. It just welds inline.

This will also make it easy to pull them out and cap off the exhaust if they fail.
The big Magnaflow mufflers I installed are pretty impressive. They're "straight through" but they split into 2 2.5" perforated pipes internally and merge back for the exit. The small ones in this picture are before the dumps, the big ones are after.

Driving it around you can decide whether you want to hear the blower whine or the exhaust, but you can't hear both at the same time :D.

Mine are 2 wire with a controller in the dash. I had to figure out how to switch the controller without the hated remote fob.
I did pull the box apart, it's a very simple board, but I'm not sure how I would trigger it with a switch. It has the 2 key fobs and a wireless button that I stuck on my center console.

Always wanted cut outs but wanted them vacuum operated. Something where they open based more on load than anything else.

They make these in a vacuum controlled version. I don't think my engine would ever make enough vacuum to shut them other than on decel.
My original plan was to control them with the Dominator. Open on startup for a couple seconds like modern factory hot rods and automatically open at 80% throttle.
They do make another version of the motor for the ones I got, but it requires a 3 way switch and was 2 weeks out when I ordered the kit I got, I didn't realize at the time that the motors were different though.

Now that I typed that out and reread it, I'm not sure if they are vacuum open or closed.
