THE STUBBY project / R.I.P . . . . . . . . . . .

well lastnight took and got the truck back to the shop. now its there and ready to be striped/cut/modifyed.

will be pulling the th400/205 out and get that installed in the plowtruck and get that back running soon.

then i went to the machine shop this morning early as thay are open early to leave early. took in my input gear/seal retainer/ord doubler plate. then bolted it up to the range box to get stuff set and lined up for the 241 adaptor redrill pattern on the face as the ord supplyed pattern was junk and i wasnt given some specific info till i called back that should have been given to me first. but stephen is working with me and its cool.

then tonight i scored my now second set of spicer hubs for dana 60 and new yellow gm dials to go with them. thay will be in soon. here is a pic of the 1st set of hubs just for ref pic. and yes spicer hubs are worth it in my and manys opinion.

will keep you all up to date on stuff. and camera is at work for lots of pics to be taken.

Wow, wish I could find some Spicers in that condition!! Looks like it is going to be an awesome build.

Could you give me a little more info on machining the 203 for the 4l80e/241 adapter? I want to run this setup and am curious what need to be done. I have the adapter and a range box from a 400/203 setup. Did you take a pic of the template?

Thanks,

trust me as soon as i get it back from machine shop i will do lots of pics and small writeup . will keep you up to date.

and start looking for 241 adaptor for 4l80-e this seems to be the best route.

Keep up the good work. I realize now that it was unclear in my above post, but I already have the 4l80e/241 adapter. That is why I am looking forward to seeing what you had done.

Thanks for the help,
Tim

where did you find the spicer hubs? also i seen there are red dials and yellow dials.. is there any significant difference other than the colors?

Im pretty sure its just colors, i have the white ones.

yellow = gm new

white = severly fadded yellow dials.

red = ford

pink = severly fadded red dials.

and watch ebay. i scored the complete hubs for 131 last night. then new dials shipped for 76 bucks.

last set was 150 complete hubs. then 76 shipped dials. then 25 for oring/bolt kit.

yes thay add up quick but you can send out the centers and have them cut to 35 spline and still be beefy :D:bow:

Thanks for the link. I have read that post a few times. What year 4l80 are you using and is it 4wd or 2wd?

93-96 vintage and fixed yoke 2wd. unbolting yoke and tail housing and seting together and see what we get. if it wont work will get full spline shaft and swap it in then cut to length needed.

We need to see more pics. I'm bringing my camera if the polish blood and many concussions don't get in the way of my memory. Oh, and the Tattood Capt. too!

Get to start early?:D Looks like a pretty cool build. Will you have that available to check out Sat.? How late do you have to work? I'd like to see some of the toys this time around if time allows. I didn't get anything done today. Lots of rain and wind, kinda sucked. Tomorrow is supposed to be beautiful though. Not too much to do at work, but my boss' dad died last night, so I'm on call. I hope to get the tranny and crossmember in.

Talk to you later, don't let the Capt. get you! At least, not too much!:eek1:
