The Toy (need cam suggestions)

Well got the motor's top end tore off and looks like I have a pretty nice Boat Anchor :(

Heads need a full rebuild which just is not worth it. Cylinders need bored but they have previously been bored 30 and I am unsure about going any further. I was really hoping this was just gonna be a quick gasket job, yeah in my dreams.

I have another 350 that has been built up a little bit but was wanting to put that under my other K5 Body so next weekend I am gonna pull it out and put it in this K5. Looks like 2 K5's by the end of summer is just not gonna happen now :( Also anyone near Billings MT that has a decent motor(327-454) laying around give me a pm.

Here are some pics of the tore down motor. As you can see the valves have been leaking by for quite some time. The cylinders have varnished gas on the walls. And a couple cylinders have some nice gouges down the sides. The last picture is of the old girl sitting, wanting to go out and drive:o

Well got the donor engine pulled and looks like all i need is a new cam and lifters. Any suggestions? I was looking on summit and found some cam/lifter kits but really not sure what I need. Pretty much stock 350 with a Performer Intake and an Edelbrock 650 carb. This is gonna be a street driven rig with no lift or big tires. Dont plan on pulling anything with it other than mabey a small pop-up tent camper. Dont want to spend too much money and was looking at the summit brand cams. This rig will be lucky to see 5k miles a year. A freind told me to buy ONLY comp cams but is twice the price really worth it for a stock engine?

So any suggestions????

But will toss in some pics too.

Donor truck next to blazer. A 3 car garage is still to small :(:(

If I cant get the parts together by this weekend to fix the engine then I will be removing all the sheetmetal off the donor truck in preperation for swaping a blazer body I have lying around onto the truck frame. :eek1::eek1::doah:
