The "under destruction builds" supersize75k5 's driveway of despair and repair

Mud really isn't that bad, I've got a nice process.

Now for awesome news. Turns out I'm getting buddy's spot in the back door shoot out at koh!

I'm not likly to win the actual event, so I'm going for best in show.

:thumb::woot::popcorn:

If they do it at back door my current plan it to try to back flip the buggy on the right side.

The slim chance it works out it will be epic, worst case I get some killer pics :pimp:

Time to get Some stuff and changes done :weld::grind::hack:

Now I really need the willys to go as well so I have so I 4x4 to drive the other 5 days lol

I know you have more of everything than common sense but really? Don't be a idiot, it may be a good show but you'll end up either hurting yourself or holding up the event because your junk is so busted.

Just don't

And if your going to actually follow through with this I might have to change my plans and come down. Well no I won't because I'll watch from home and then go snowmobiling.

Really though, Just don't.

I'm second to last to go "52nd" so the so hold up is minimal.

If I feel it can be safely attempted with proper measures and neck/back device and fire suit it is what I wish to do but I definitely hear and share some of your concerns.

It's Shawn, if he says he's going to do something, he's probably not joking. :pimp:

For us people thousands of miles away that dont care much about the hold up..... ( but only if your really suited to actually do something stupid on purpose) ill be watching

Been at redogs aka brent house for a couple days.

Hanging out and tearing into the buggy.

Few things to note;

1. When mad at your buggy it's a horrible idea to toss it in the back yard like trash after a mud bog where it got swamped.

2. I'm pretty happy to say I haven't actually broke any parts in love my 14 bolt axles...but the damage is severe from my ignorance and ignoring simple tear downs after playing with it in mu.

Ruined parts to replace

-gear sets
-rear arb
-front Spindles
-Yukon Super joints ..I never re-greased them after zerks broke
-all bearings
-all seals
-brake calipers
-pads
-brake pins
-brake master
-seal surface on chromo front shafts

Damage parts .
-double sheer artec arm bolts "from hitting the wall and roll"
-orbital ..no idea when but it won't return to center
-one race line wheel.. apparently drive on it loose, in mud this is not easy to notice

Uh.

good news is we made a beefy trans mount. The whole belly is reinforced with a piece of 1/4" plate and a piece of 2x4" for the new trans mount. Its beef!

Bet that belly pan is heavy as hell lol

Felt like 50 lbs lol

I don't like adding weight but my logic is I'd rather add weight and make it stronger that skimp and have a lighter broke buggy I can't use .

plus it's welded in ..so at least I don't have to heave it up there like the last two buggys

Hopefully no one has a light stomach lol..yuck

dayum! :eek1::eek1: those are rough looking.

How bad is the seal surfaces on the shafts? I have had decent luck with some emery cloth on junkyard axles.

I think they will clean up.

I am changing transmission builders again too. Pretty excited about it.

Dropped the trans off to get the case swapped to a good one and I am told the clutches ate toast and so is the sprag.

Problem is the sprag isn't the 34 element I payed for its a 16, and the clutches were not installed nor set up right. All of those parts were in the buggy for a total of 8 half ass passes with a motor running at half power. Not impressed

ewwwww...
