The "under destruction builds" supersize75k5 's driveway of despair and repair

I did see that on a website, it was bolted to the the rear inspection cover then to a crossmember.

I kind of like it with the top off..you dont see alot, if any lifted single cabs that are new around here..for the most part they are always exstended or 4 doors. Reminds me of all the 70's and 80's lifted trucks.:D

the truck makes my new colorado look like a car!

Have you got any interior shots? I am wondering about the sticks and where you placed them. Looks good though. Was this exercise helpful in figuring out how to do the Colorado or do you think there are still a few bugs to work out?:haha:

on the t-case... I have yet to deal with the shifters, I dont have any of the parts so I decided to just do cable shifters, the new shifters will be working into the roll cage design and racing seat mounts.

the list of important things is..

make new crossmember for tranny
have exhaust moved up and out of driveshafts way, add headers, high flow cats with duals
install my shiny front drive shaft
regear front and back to 5.13s
new rear tires, or new all around
weld in sliders that look stock/cage/seats/ cable shifter
change rear suspensions, not sure on that plan
change front springs, and spring mount, or spring for coil overs..
build new front winch & bumper/ build rear bumper,
new rear floor with compartments for tools and gear
the front locker and lomax gears for the 205
then tear open the motor, cam, 6.2 heads,402 crank kit, tune, 90 mm throttle body, elec fan
and a built trans to top off the money pit

lots to do..one thing at a time

yes it is staying a 2wd, even if it was 4wd does not change that the truck is not going off road, I decided to get a 2wd for a reason...

keeps me out of trouble,

if I wanted to I could simply put in a 205 behind my tranny and cut a whole in the floor...but that would be going to the dark side.

so,,,what happened :confused::dunno:

you are SO predictible....

I was waiting for you to start doing donuts or something but thats just as cool:laugh:

soo.

someone I know is jumping ship on a project, he has a 12 valve cummins and 2wd nv4500.. truck he pulled it from was under 100,000k miles he has another one with 160k for less, but I dont know anything about that one. Comes with everything and the 1st motor I could eat off of. maybe mod it, dual turbos..could be fun:D

I was gathering parts to turn my 6.0 into a 402 stroker heads, intake pistons, rods, intake etc and maybe a supercharger. but I could always toss the parts into the buggy 6.0 build so no real loss.

I would like to stay around 6-8 grand, the superchager bumps that up a bit but would be worth it. I already purchased another 6.0 motor to build so the truck would stay driving while I gathered parts and built the 6.0

but I realize real quick that the oil burner would be fun and I have been reading on what people do to them and the #'s cranked out of them is nuts:eek1:

the truck is way past stock now so its all fair game.

thoughts?

The cummins swap would sweeten the deal even more! If your interested in selling off the 6L and the tranny I may be interested.

Thoughts?

As I've said before I think you're the kind of guy that enjoys months and months building a truck to drive it for a week only to start all over... which seems crazy but hey it's what you enjoy so whatever floats your boat...

That being said a modded 12v Cummins in a chevy would be sick...especially a SFA chevy :)

One word.

Detroit.:D

Then do another vid.
Then swap engines.
