The "under destruction builds" supersize75k5 's driveway of despair and repair

So I guess what we've learned today is the buggy needs a d-max. :dunno:

:haha: I like the fact you are comfortable with a setup and stick with it even though people may give you crap about it.

Lol say no to d-max..

Honestly it is very hard for me not to just say fugggit and go get a new truck, I realllllly want a new gmc front d-max 4x4.. Ill settle for the 6.0 and a new 08 style cab when this one on the 07 throws in the towel.

In other news really debating on this ttc entry thing. I think I would rather put the time and money in the buggy. If I build the truck with rockwells, loaded with good parts, jack the truck up, bigger tires ect.. the truck will not have too many uses after all that work for one event. That is a lot of money for one trip.

Seems like every time I've heard about a TTC truck after the comp it's sitting around or being parted out.

I'm not doubting you - but I know I'll never find a deal like that. If shipping is reasonable and you have access to a bunch of 6.0's, you should start a side business reselling them on e-bay. :deal:

I sell them locally, I can be a procrastinator like no other so I cant say I want to deal with shipping.

I say go for TTC :D

I have decided not to.

It will just be a huge waste of money at this point to build the truck to a competitive level for 1 event and I refuse to show up on 1 tons.

Sucks, but I feel the truck would get eaten alive as it sits right now.

yeah it would be pretty cool to be in TTC... but then it wouldnt be the same truck at all in anyshape or form really. u can take all that money and go have a blast 10days in a row instead of just 1

I have friends who have competed on 1 tons and been good. I think you should go for it they are dividing it into 2 classes truck and buggies you would handle the competition in the truck class.

As always I need a another project like I need a bullet in the head.. bought another white truck to build:D

Any guesses ..

Something completely out of character for him  :haha:

and I can't wait to see the build up of this one :woot: should be some good viewing entertainment for sure :waytogo:

2005 truckall... imported by vantage 800 cc motor, heater, ac options ect..lol

Plan is to use 31x9.5 tires, sami axles and a geo metro 4cyl motor turned sideways with a welded transaxle, some cutting and a radius arm front for a better ride and some stability :D Managed to build a new fuel system by using the buggy tank, pump and regulator and modifying the fuel rail and got it running to goof around.

I have two of these, other one is for a friend and is a kia, no extended cab and a little lighter. Same drivetrain plan

Today we went and picked up a 70k mile engine and transaxle and pulled the drivetrain out of the non running kia to check fitment.

We got them for 300.00 each:D I always think the 07 is a little overkill for most my outing with friends so this will fill that nich, plus should be fun on quad trails:D

Craigslist, the guy was asking 600 for a pair and they both did not run, his has carb issues.. checked on priced. 900..yes 900.00 for a carb! Only one guy has them as he bought up all the stock. So it was easy to plan from there..

I have used it already a handful in the yard, pretty dang useful:D Might modify a removable cherry picker on the back and use it around the yard for motors and crap for the projects. It is serious fun in the alley and tops out to about 33 mph, we did some math and with 31's, the transaxle 3 speed and 3.90 gears top speed will be 40 or so max, I think that is plenty, if not I can get a 5 speed for it I guess.

Should be a blast with what you've got planned :pimp: . I see those things for sale around here once in awhile, generally people are trying to get 3k or more out of a running one, saw one that the guy was asking 5k for !!
