The "under destruction builds" supersize75k5 's driveway of despair and repair

Been lazy with pictures, mostly just sheet metal work and body mounts ..

But working on this..

3/16 wrap around body armor ..laser cut . Hope it all got measured it all correctly

Was pondering 74628 ways to home brew these or use my contacts, i did get access to a 10 foot sheer and found a company with a die the radius I needed but figured my trusty collection of angle grinders wasn't going to cleanly pull this off.

Laser it is :pimp:

3/16 should survive some good times with me behind the wheel :p

You should make 10 sets and sell them.

Sadly I do not think there is a market, too many choices, 1/8 or 3/16 steel or aluminum , stock wheel well or bigger radius, stretch or not, tsil light holes, gas filler or none.

A lot of thought went into each one of those based on wheel base and wants. I will be pointing people to the guy making them though, with a digital file and baseline numbers from stock it's now silly simple for anyone to order a set that's custom.

I need to stop playing in water..

Opened the trans up and it didn't look so great.

Bands are smoked, clutches aint clutching, pump is trashed and the fluid was nesquick pink, Expensive throw away parts .

The rust looks nice though.

:doah:

Called summit and got all the parts send next day air, red line clutches and all that bla bla what ever stuff. Also tossing in a full manual reverse valve body with engine breaking.

Should be awesome now.if I have time I'll get the ultra bell on, other wise I'll save it for the next rebuild.

Mud bogs Saturday!

How bout a summary of all the current builds and their current conditions.
There's so many changes I can't keep up. Are we still doing the little mini cab over truck things?

Line up..

2010 duramax, have the goodies ready for a sas with coil overbypasses, radius arms, wfo frame plates and hoops, . It's getting the trussed hp 60 from my mud truck, 4.56 gears swapped in, cromo shafts, Yukon 35 spline hubs and dealers out back

06 Silverado hd work truck. .no build, but may convert it to 4x4 with parts from the duramax

Buggy...trans is out and maybe summer it will get some updates in a couple areas

Lastly the samurai is getting a willys body, cage, seats, winch, 34 ltbs and waggy axles and maybe a 3 link front ..When if I get a wild hair a mild ecotec.

Still have a 74 3/4 ton blazer waiting on love too

List seems small in a weird way.

Oddly I'm most excited about the willys and a trail wheeler I can scoot around in. I got the new panel back from laser cutting and they were off..so 440 buck again later hopefully they will be right :p

I'll just leave this here..

Ori failed..

High lift handle stepped up with the help of a drill tossed on my spare starter to replace the crushed one and I got to keep going the rest of the night.

:pimp:

did ya tow it home with a Ford?

Hell no..worn out front suspension ifs gmc..I can say the ride in the bogs with the high lift handle on one corner really didn't seem that bad lol

Yup Ben Fyffe, I'm friends with a few guys from here on fb.

You live that close to him ben? You could prolly throw a party and have shawn get your truck done in a night :haha:

I would say hes probably 45 mins from my house. I have met a few local guys that have wheeled with him.

When the 07 was newish I tried to get the trans warrantied. :haha:

I've got issues

After I adamantly decided against yota axles I need up getting another pirates members old ride and hauled it home. I think that makes six parts or parted our vehicles now to build my willys lol

Was neet too see a couple kids driving an old flat fender in the background too. Cool parents for sure.

Yota axles
4.10 gears
Welded "I'll be changing that"
Already modified flanges to bolt up to Sami drivelines
The have high steer and cross over installed too! Not sure if the raised arms will work for me.

Saves me some dough too, now I don't need to buy rear u bolt plates or custome brake lines to convert from metric to waggy axes.

I'll sell the waggy axles and now I don't have to spend the time narrowing them.
