The "under destruction builds" supersize75k5 's driveway of despair and repair

Switch dividers are just 1/2 pipe U-bolts to go with the air craft theme, these are just Nickel plated, pretty inconsistent with the u shape and too so I may change them to stainless.. Sadly those little guys are 8 bucks each

Maybe check out the kitchen cabinet knob selection at the hardware store for more symmetrical dividers too.

Looks good Shawn! Are you going to be ready for a shakedown run this coming Sunday? I should have the Rock Limo ready for it's first 4 link shakedown by then.

Lol... No.

Shooting for 2 weeks till I'm ready to hand it over for a cage.

Small chance I'm hoping on a plan for dallas too for a week.. And getting the LS swap started for the neighbors truck, winch and bumper on a friend's truck tonight and a 10 bolt rear for another friend Thursday..

No problem

It's not like you're working right now, get it done! You don't need sleep!

You can borrow my bender and do the cage yourself!

Let the pain begin, the last cells of cancer are getting cut-out before I add the passenger armor. Amazed what some metal hides:p

The good part is my new armor replaces the bulk of the whole fender so lucky me. Only 150 holes to drill.

Also tested on of the tail lights and tested green paint on the bumper rather than black.

Not sure, but I'm liking the green.

Working on the thing again tonight. Welded on new spring perches and moved the axle forward to center it in the rear wheel wells.

Speed hut gps speedometer came in, added a star to it for the army theme.

Wheels also got some green, decided to plastidip them and paint over that in case I decide to sell them and do the steel wheel I want.

Also got the top of the 3/16 armor fenders trimmed down and welded, still needs some blending.

Next up is cutting a hole for the mb glove box door, making the box behind it as large as can be and mounting the amplifier for the tunes and start writing this thing.

Any progress is good progress!

Tonight's progress was a glove box..

Picked up some 12 Guage flat strap, cut a hole, welded it in after I shaped it. Then added some plate under it, one benefit of making my own on the cj2a that was glove box less is that the glove box lid is moved over for the roll cage and the cubby behind it is the entire area from my switches all the way to the top and side under the cowl. While I was under there I also predrilled for the hardware to hold the amplifier.

Last thing to do is make it latch or stay put, ordered some rare earth magnets in the 3/4 x1/2" variety to give that a try. Other wise it will get a lock.

You do nice work! :waytogo:

Just don`t F it all up the first time out with it.

No... Greg72 does "nice work" I do quick work lol

The body is 3/16 with 12 Guage sheet metal behind it.. With 3/16 2x2" rockers.. ..i have hope it last a little while

Progress train is still going! Tonight I cut a hole in the bumper for a recover piece, not a fan of how high it is but it's main purpose is for when my samurai friends and I drive far, we all are set up for a tow bar so I'd like a hitch incase one of them becomes a peg leg so I don't have to go get a truck and trailer.

Used tabs from sdhq for chains and to reinforce it along with having it go through the bumper so it's welded on both sides.

Along with that I got a lock in the glove box and made a filler piece for between the body and bumper to make it more pleasing to the eye.

.....but Shawn actually "wheels" on a regular basis while Greg spends far too many hours in a garage and hasn't been on a trail ride since Moab 2006.

We all have our strengths (and weaknesses). :waytogo:

I get my fix but I'm way low on the actually wheeling as often as possible ladder, and that's the whole point to this build.. Less trailering, more adventure!
