You are doing it wrong then. I can have a bitching fire going in less than 5 min. It helps that I modified the stove with a air compressor fitting![]()
I can have a good roaring fire going in 5 minutes also,IF the wind is blowing the right way,or the weather isn't rainy or storming--often the smoke wont go up the chimmney or will backdraft during bad weather, low pressure areas often cause poor draft--or makes smoke billow back into the shop profusely--I made a cap for the chimmney, which does help some, but dont always prevent that completely on certain days ..................................................................................................most days it dont take long to get my stove roaring, other days I must resort to using liqiud kindling like drain oil or varoius other accelerants to get things going...I have used the air hose and blow gun to wake up a lazy fire more than once myself!...some days I leave a desk fan going in front of the stoves air intake,it dont take much of a breeze to turbocharge a wood stove...
