The Wife's Dually - '82 K30 dually

I put the bolts in that way for ease of greasing and if I ever need to take the bolt out I won't have to take the header off first. I'll probably trim the threads a bit. Gooing to pull the motor to figure out the oil pan leak anyway so they will be easy to trim.

Just watch Engine Masters on You Tube with the header bash episode and knock a big dent in them and you will be just fine. I would trim the bolts a hair also so you only have about two threads or so past the nut.

It got hot here in Texas, I've been busy with work, and I got distracted with other projects. I hope to start working on this again if it will ever freaking cool off a little bit! Plus I've had my K5 to drive lately so that has been giving me my old Chevy fix over the summer. Thanks for your interest guys.

I need to reread the last few pages of this thread just so I can remember where I am with this project. I think my next step is to finish pulling the wiring out of the donor body bed and cab so my guys can start the body work on those parts. I still need to stab the trans back in, but need to have it gone through by my mechanic to make sure it is all in good order before bothering to bolt it back in place. That way I'm not yanking it back out again after it's all put back together.

Does thinking really hard about getting off your a$$ and starting a project again count as actually working on it? If so, I feel pretty good about myself. I did get the trans gone through and new seals put in it about 4 weeks ago. I thought I had some momentum, but I've been too busy building my new daily driver to get this thing going. I'm thinking real hard about it though!

Yes it counts. But barely. I always liked this truck. Just get to it whenever.
I guess a year later was whenever. Glad I got off my ass, loaded the frame and motor on a trailer, took it all over East Texas, and then dropped it off at my friend's shop when I got back home. It took the Thanksgiving holiday to get me motivated to get this rolling again.

Now, how do I post a video on here?
