The Willomet Charger

A desecration to Mopar nuts everywhere, this is my protouring, LS-powered, 1970 Dodge Charger; built at my shop, Willomet Motor & Fabrication.
Overlay plate looks great,

Gives a subtle little hint that there is a lot more going on
Thanks man. I aspire to your level of weld finish, and am going to get with some local pro-welder friends for a bit of a hands-on tutorial before I resume work on the car. I can self teach a lot of stuff (books, YouTube university, lots of trial and error), but I value the benefit of experience.

There will be several more opportunities to practice as I go through the car with the rest of the overlays. They’ll all get covered in raptor liner, so my early efforts will blend in nicely with the later ones.

While at SEMA, there was a particular Charger I made time to go see - Speedkore’s Evolution.

They have a large autoclave, and are able to bake an entire quarter up to the A pillar as one piece, and so where an all-steel b-body with a demon engine and 8-speed might weight 3700ish lbs, this one has a full interior and is 3200 before the driver opens the door.

Notable differences from Tantrum - original A side hood profile, full beam-style frame similar to my design (not just a roadster shop chassis), carbon quarters and roof, hopped up Demon 6.2L, and an aluminum floor.

I spent a good bit of time talking with the designer, and expressed my interest in their hood, trunk lid, and bumpers. I’ll have to dig deep into the funding stream to make it happen, but I might have made room elsewhere in the budget to accommodate.

I have some partners in the tuning world that connected me to some new supercharger people, and they’ve each expressed interest in supporting the Charger. That said, my 1.9L TVS is for sale:

There’s a lot of follow up work to do, and the front suspension may still change slightly depending on potential partner support. My next step is still stabbing the engine and trans, building the inner frame members, and capping the rear rails.

It’s good to be back.

Nice car. Your TIG welding is more careful than theirs. For that one joint, at least. ;)

Now the question is how good your composite work is.
