The Willomet Charger

A desecration to Mopar nuts everywhere, this is my protouring, LS-powered, 1970 Dodge Charger; built at my shop, Willomet Motor & Fabrication.
Crossmemeber looks fantastic!

I haven’t set my new plasmacam up yet, I can’t wait to do stuff in house now
Thanks man! You’ll dig it and can go from idea to creation inside of a day.

I’m about to go cut those other plates right now. Hopefully I can get some junk welded tonight.

I really appreciate the compliment. It’s funny, it’s the network I’ve developed here and on Instagram that’s really inspired me to stretch myself to do and learn more. This car is just a manifestation.

Don’t throw away those tools. Buy more and build something outlandish.

Yeah I’m not at your skill level, but this place has inspired me too. Patience is my biggest flaw, but I hate posting pics of my crappy work, so it’s pushing me to take my time. I’ll definitely take your advice and buy some more tools. Lol

Am I reading this right...? David is your home shop set up with a CNC plasma table now?

If so, consider me green with envy. :).

Engine crossmember looks rad. :waytogo:

I struggle there, too. Whenever I feel my fuse burning short, I physically walk away and pet the dog or get a cup of coffee. That usually helps.

Next best thing - a friend has one in his shop, and has an open door policy for myself and another fabrication buddy. He’s always down to cut, and has drops of material laying around.

I just ran over there last night to cut and weld one mount. He’s a really good welder, and so I take the opportinuty to learn from him.

Thank you, sir. I have the new plates, and spent last night practicing my aluminum welding. An hour under the hood, and I think I have the right settings and feel for the material.

Oh 100%, I have a buddy with one I use, I just have to drive into town to use it. Soon I’ll be out of reasons to leave my home shop. Haha.

That's on my dream list.... I could probably find room for a 2 x 4' Plasma / Waterjet / Laser Table in my shop. Who knows what the prevailing technology will be once I actually am at a point to start shopping? :dunno:

It's amazing how quickly prices have come down on the waterjets and even laser products in the last few years.

Waterjets are badass. Borderline precision machine finish if you run it slow enough. Even fast travel speeds are suprior to a plasma.

That's on 1.5 A36 steel. You could shave with edge it put on it.

If you’re using Kennametal nozzles I know who made them.

A nice lady named Lindsey marks and ships them and a bunch of guys and gals I worked with in Traverse City, MI make them.
