I struggle there, too. Whenever I feel my fuse burning short, I physically walk away and pet the dog or get a cup of coffee. That usually helps.
Next best thing - a friend has one in his shop, and has an open door policy for myself and another fabrication buddy. He’s always down to cut, and has drops of material laying around.
I just ran over there last night to cut and weld one mount. He’s a really good welder, and so I take the opportinuty to learn from him.
Thank you, sir. I have the new plates, and spent last night practicing my aluminum welding. An hour under the hood, and I think I have the right settings and feel for the material.
