EDIT: Added a few more questions.

Hey guys,

So since i'm down to a roller frame, and i'm not that impressed with my current lift, skyjacker 4 inch springs all around. I'd like to add a 2 inch shackle flip in the rear, as well as a zero rate. Would this put me up enough to need a new driveshaft? I'll be going to a 14bff and I believe its longer then the 10 bolt, so would that make up the difference in driveshaft? Also, that would lead to needing to to change the front around, I have my stock 52's, how much lift could I gain with them, as well as a zero rate? I also had the saggy butt look, so I figure this would even it out if the 52's would put me up close to the rear. or would it be better just to go with a 6" front lift spring?

2nd question. I'm picking up a suburban for a parts truck, its 3/4 ton 8 bolt. I'm guessing either dana44 or 10 bolt front, i'm guessing it would have a 14bff rear? it has 4.10's, hopefully its a 14bff if not I have one in line.

3rd question. Where the shift linkage bolts to the trans, its been leaking a good bit, I plan on dropping the tranny pan and putting in a new filter, and new fluid. to replace the seal I wasn't sure if I have to drop the pan to get to it, anyone ever changed this seal? just hoping I didn't have to dig into the abyss of the tranny hah..

i dunno much about 52" springs but i plan to keep my 2" springs and just add a 4" shakle flip so i can toss out my 4" block

the stock 52's net like 4-5" of lift i think. add a zero rate and some longer shackles and you can most likely get to where you want to be. idk how good they are but daystar makes some 1.5" lift shackles for the front.
it was a long time ago when i looked at them thought. i found them at Truckcandy.com

The seal where the shifter linkage goes is shot, its been leaking their for awhile, just wondering how big of a pita its gonna be to change. Would I just be better off with 6" springs, or would it just be a better choice to go with the 52's?

im running a set of 6"springs in the front of my mud truck along with shackles...and then my own little homebrew shackle flip in the rear witha 3"block.

im happy with the lift...i thought about running hte 52" 6" lift springs in the front and moving my mounts but i figured that 10"of lift was a little bit much...haha

Becaues im a pic whore :D :haha:

um. honestly yes. i just remembered you need new shackles anyways so forget that last post. problem with 52's is you have to go to x-over steering if you want to have anykind of a turning radius

THANKS!

i actually wanted a picture of the fornt of it with matching tires...sorry i was just trying to give he a "perspective" of what the 6"spring and shackels look like.

dont be sorry. its completely ok. i think that is sweet. gives me a freakin grin everytime i see the damn thing. keep it how it is. that way you dont have to worry about body damage.:D

i got one word...MUD...haha im actaully thinking about doing what they did on trucks to a shortbed...they cut it down...haha damn taht reads retarted...basically my point being that i want it to look good when its washed. plus a floor/roof that doesnt have holes.

oh. i know what you mean. yeah i was thinking of tube doors all the way around on my sub and cutting off the back for the open air effect.

then i realized something.
I live in South Texas where there is nothing but rain and mud. :D so the doors stay on.

I think I might just go with a set of 6" springs in front, then I believe i only have to put on a drop pitman arm. I already have the raised steering arm, or will I need the pitman arm at all?

the truck that i pullled my 6"lift off of only had the raised steering arm and a stock pitman...personally id go with crossover...eliminate the extra stress/problems
