Thought I'd share my Weldernator

I personally would only use this setup as a welder. Dual batts and a good alt for your rig and keep this separate. A 3500w inverter? maybe bigger to run drills and such.

some sort of display or gauge to monitor your welder would be great anyone know of something that could be used?

That is a 12SI alt. The older ones are a 10SI (stamped steel fan like the charging alt. he runs) but the 12SI had better cooling and higher amperage ratings (110A).

That was the very first bead ran with the weldernator (also its the video). 6011 3/32 rod, not too bad for first try.

Im curious how a HUGE alt off a semi would do. I happen to have one somewhere. Its twice the size of a 12SI, and has a v belt pully.
