Thoughts on the Drivetrain associated with the 6bt Cummins diesel trucks

med duty trucks could be had with cummins and Allison trans all as 1 unit .

we have a 2007 f650 at work with that combo
I think yhe medium duty ft tucks had the Ally 2000 though?not completely sure about the difference other than its larger and probably more expensive? Plus then I'd still have to mate the tcase but it's a step in the right direction
 
If you're trying to keep it simple the 48re is an awesome trans. It's basically a 727 torqueflit with an overdrive section bolted on to the back. Plus if you get an early one, 03-04, it has minimal computer controls.

The one I have in my dodge has a Georend torque convertor, valve body, billit input shafts and flexplate. Other then doing boosted launches in 4wd it's handled everything I've thrown at it for a 100,000 miles. This is with a mildly modified engine in front of it.
