going to pick up the HP 60 this weekend. Get that slung under on Sunday.

Then the fun begins. Narrowing the front and rear
removing at least 8" of lift.
building cage and bumpers.
Locating radiator and trans cooler in the rear.
Making soft top
getting seats mounted.
finding the 500 caddy.
installing engine trans and doubler.
then the what not.

Time to own up!

I remembered this thread from when I first joined CK5.

So, how are you all doing with your list of things to do?

mrk5 said:
Finally rebuilt old 350. Installing it this weekend with serpentine belt setup. Also adding Thorley headers. Hope to fab new rear bumper with tire carrier soon.
I finally picked up the steel to do the rear bumped. Have the steel and carrier hinge, and now maybe I'll actually get it done!

1 tons

Currently I'm:

-Trying to find a job to fund my projects.
-Welding Spider gears in my Eaton 1 Ton rear.
-Will maybe be Cutting out the fenders for more tire clearence.
-Continue working on the new Dash.
-Make removable doors.
-Do more body work on BMW.

Note that all the listed things cost no/little money. Once I get a job and get some money, I will:

-Buy/install Engine/trans mounts for BMW engine swap
-Buy/install Aluminum Flywheel for BMW
-Buy/install Sport Clutch for BMW
-Finish installing new engine in BMW
-Buy/install 5-speed transmission for BMW
-Go insane figuring out how to wire a 1991 BMW engine and engine management system into a 1979 BMW
-Start using BMW as Daily Driver and put the truck in the garage
-Buy/install Disc brake kit for Eaton 1 ton rear
-Buy/install gauges for new dash
-Buy locking hubs and rebuild Dana 44 HD front
-Swap stock 1/2ton axles for newly rebuilt and super-cool 1ton and 3/4ton axles!

As you can see I have a lot to do and the BMW is on top of the list since it gets awesome gas milage and I'm driving the truck until the BMW is running. Once the BMW is running I can focus on the axle swaps. Then later on I'll:

-4" suspension lift
-New 39.5" tires
-Buy welder and fab up some bumpers
-Fab roll bar
-Get ARB or Detroit locker for Dana 44HD front
-Buy PTO winch

Aquired a Ford HPD60, might swap that up front, and use my front diff for 4 wheel steer. Going to do 4 link first though, dual triangulated.

Right now I just wanna wheel my rig, I just need to get my fuel delivery system, wiring and seats in, and I'm pretty much golden.

First priority is getting NWF off the ground, so the truck will have to wait.

started tearing into the 85 truck on sunday. (project overload) pulled the front clip-radiator-engine-tranny-tcase-all wiring outside of cab-fuel and brakelines-drivelines-shocks-dual gas tanks-degreased frame. last week pulled bed off so that was done :D now the fun starts! 63's on the rear, shortened wheelbase total should be 117"-120" 52's front or maybe 56's. d60 with lockright rockstomper crossover steering blue torch fabworks cover etc.,14ff with detroit locker shaved also btf cover, rear discs. no bed just tube structure with fuel cell and rear mounted optimas. rebuilt 350 with holley truck cam and truck avenger carb th350/203/205 with nwf adapter thanks kyle:D triple stick, 1410 yokes on tcases and axles. had drivelines, 14 travel bilstein 5150's, 30 inch narrowed frontend. 39.5 iroks on 15" beadlock wheels, thanks tim:xmas: been snappin pics hope it's worthy:D

Just put my new 355 in the 88 blazer. Had to buy a lot of adapters and small parts to fit efi on a 77 block. Motor has camel humps, 350 hp cam, 10:1 flat tops, headers, 3" exhaust, k&n, Holley 670 cfm 2bbl tbi with 85 pph injectors, holley projection efi intake manifold, accel high pressure fuel pump, 2400 stall torque converter, 700r4 tranny with a corvette shift kit, all sittin on 35's with a 6" lift. Fired her up for the first time about a week ago... just have to get the knock sensor in and fill up the tranny and tc.

adds up to a 115 inch wheelbase 400+ hp 425+ftlbs beast with a 10.5 to 1 power to weight ratio. Basically means i can ruin 3/4 of the rice burners that r on the street days when they hit their nos and still get smoked by a 4500 pound truck and run em over when its done.
