"Tired" starter?

I've seen allen head bolts with serrated edges under the head, that bites into the metal and acts as a lockwasher--muffle clamp nuts also have the same thing..but even with no knurl,if they are torqued properly and re-checked after awhile, they should stay tight without locktite or any other means..

Do the nini starters have an angled brace to go to the block like oem starters do ?...I'd think with all that more grunt they would want it braced too,not just rely on 2 bolts...

Just two bolts for most of them, but they do have models with all three holes for a premium price:

The brace on stock starters is more for the weight of the motor.

I like the Nippendenso motor equipped, gear reduction starters better than the Mitsubishi ones. They have the same design of motor as what a lot of 12 valve Cummins engines had, as well as some heavy equipment. The one on my father block will crank it even when I was playing around with the timing. (I had it at 38* initial once!!)
