TJ's tire thread

I was looking on Coopers site and for the 12.5 and 13.5 width tire they recommended wheel width at 8.5-11.

The Cooper SST pro at 37x13.5x17 is about $200 cheaper. But will it balloon more and or rub anything?

It might balloon a little you just run less air pressure in it.
I run 10 in wide rims that are recommended for my 14.50s Toyo's, for comparison sake

Ugh.... I'll go with the 12.5. Until I wake tomorrow and start second guessing that. Plus it will save some weight that my SBC 350 won't have to try to get rolling.

For a while there I was swapping tires every year, at least you get some money back and you get to try out something else.
This time around I got my Toyo's from a guy on OfferUp, brand new never used, they've been sitting in the guys garage for a year mounted on some 15x14 Wheels. I got them for $1, 200. Then I sold my 35-in general grabbers for $500 and sold those other rims for $300.
Brand new the toyos are $335.

Your supposed to be within 4" of tire width on rim width so the 9" wide will be perfect for either. I'm way off at 7" wide with a 12.5" tire but I plan on eventually doing weld on beadlocks or going to 17" wheels. Mine aren't ballooned either. They just look skinnier.

On the other hand my dually with 295/75R16 tires on 6" wide rims are definitely ballooned due to a shorter sidewall.

Both 12.5 and 13.5 will work no problem on 17x9 wheel. The only really big difference is the weight and the 13.5 are about $200 cheaper.

If the 13.5 will not rub anything while turning or whatever, they aren't ruled out .The only reviews I can find in comparison are on Jeep websites. So I don't know if their rubbing issues would even occur on my Blazer

That 13.5 looks really good.

You're on 37s now rite? You could do a little recon() about rubbing by turning full lock and checking clearances

No rubbing now, finders are all hacked anyway from a previous owner. But I'll go check to see if 1 more inch will make a difference

man that looks amazing.. Any rubbing issues? That's a 4' lift?

Pictures help so much. The only place with pictures for reference are jeep forums. Thanks for posting that

I really truthfully don't know how much lift this is. I think it's closer to 8. Full fenders, no cutting anywhere though. I can get more pics tonight.
