RIP Raven!

Great Trade! I have an extra "Learn to Weld" book laying around that I can send you. PM me an address and I will drop it in the mail.

That would be awesome!! I have been watching a lot of how to videos!! I am still working on the house wiring. I bought a huge extension cord on CL. I need to buy both end connectors though. I just got back from Home Depot. They didnt have them. I got 63 feet of 1" thick 6/3 SOOW cord. it has 4 big wires inside. Super heavy. I need to use this because there is no way to run 220 to my garage. Im going to hook up a 220 plug reight next to my breaker box and use the big cord.

best way i learned is get the stupid simple stuff down and go from there and play with it to see what is to little and what will make stuff melt away :eek1:

I think Home Depot does have some DIY 50amp plugs. The one I bought there can be configured in a few different ways depending on the plug type you need.

So, went to Home Depot. They didn't have what I needed. Then went to Tractor Supply and they had what I needed. $20.00 for each end. 50amps each. So, I paid $80.00 for 63 feet of wire and $40.00 for the ends. This is beef!! I'm sure it's overkill though. I cut off 3 feet off the 63 feet to make a jumper. It will use the dryer plug on one end to hook up to the extension cord I made. Just in case I need to use the dryer plug.

My dad is the CFO is a huge international metal recycling company here in town. They make all the machines that crush cars demolition machines. I can get all kinds of steel and whatever for free. Also, Tom( Bradshawtech) gave me some scrap to play with. He will be over sometime to give me some pointers. He is a pro welder/ fabricator.

i run a 30' 6/3 extension cord with the same ends on that welder..

Ready to start welding. Made a jumper to connect the extension cord to the dryer. I know the wife won't like the garage door cracked open, So this is just temporary.

That's actually old for a rotty average age is usually 8-10 years. It's sad they dont live any longer considering how good of a dog they are. Sorry OP I have one of these dogs myself couldn't resist. Done now.

Most houses these days have the electrical box in the garage.
It's pretty easy to wire up 220V if you don't put the electrical outlet to far from the electrical box.

Is your box in the garage. Do you plan to do the job yourself?

yeah, I had always heard 10... the whole big dog thing... very sad day indeed for me.. she didn't act or seem old, but over 3, 4 weeks the kidney thing was just brutal, couldn't let her suffer any more..

new male sheperd coming soon tho, Malachi...

My box is on the opposite side of the damm house!!!! No attic or crawl space either. I have a huge arched ceiling in the middle of the house with attic on each side. Going to install a 220 outlet next to the box and use the extension cord.

I had these at my store for some reason. 4'x4'x1/8". I have 2 Im going to stack on top of each other and make a welding table. Talked to my dad, he said come get all the metal you need for free.

So a welding cart and table will be my first projects. Then rear bumper, sliders.

do you do equipment install kinda work at all, or just the sales? I was thinking the metal may have been leftover from a wheelchair ramp or something...
