Few years ago I got roped into helping my buddy drop and then reinstall that same setup on his late 70's heavy half. Holy crap is that a heavy combo. No trans jack so it was me and another guy underneath bench pressing it up while Mike sat inside and guided it into place. Oy...

I've done it 4 times by myself. 3 floor jacks are sure handy

Just be sure you flush the trans cooler lines or the new trans will be toast!

yes I flushed the lines and cooler, truck WAS driving..I drove it around, then decided it was time for the transfercase

I went to my drive shaft guy, we tourched out the carrier bearing crossmember and took measurements for the new drivlines

few cool things, this fits just right to give me 12 inches of shaft to the t-case, so that worked out, and I decided to have them do a long slip on the rear drive line and it will match the front driveline to the dana 60..

once I get the shafts tomorrow ill start fabbing the crossmember, then off to the exhaust shop, then I can put the front drive line it and have it re-geared to 5.13's
