For a 1987 6.2 diesel, 700R4, 205 cast iron transfer case. New torque converter, rebuilt transmission and transfer case because the puny4 bolts did not support the transfer case very well. Actually, it broke loose. Would like to have a little more support for the TC.

Great. Two of my transfer case bolts are just heli coiled and I need some support for that cast iron monster

Uhhh, the 208 is not cast iron, but aluminum.

This. Assuming you have the aluminum 208, it should have a single brace running up to the bell housing.

If Jimbo can't find his, I have one that's in two pieces. Or you could just measure the distance and make your own.

Well, it's definately cast iron, and the specs on the 6.2 Diesel said it was a 208.
Spec sheet could be wrong. What is the cast iron one?

Well, with a little luck, you have an NP205, gear drive T/C. If so, this is good!
On the other hand, it could be an NP203, chain drive T/C, and this would not necessarily be bad, but very heavy.
There should be a round aluminum tag on the back of the T/C that will identify it.

No tags on dear of 203 & 205 there on front side and rectangle shape .

Mechanic showed me what he rebuilt, and it was definitely geared. Its heavy.
So that means it's a 205, right? I'll look and make sure, though.

205 part time 4x4 gear to gear fixed yoke rear output. note the little 3 bolt cover between the 2 big ones .

203 full time 4x4 chain drive case . note the huge aluminum tail section .

No luck, my 700R4/NP208 is without side brace, but it probably would be the wrong length anyway. Grab the one listed above, and weld a sleeve to the proper length.
